Here are the rules for the Greatest Match Ever Project.
1) The ballot is due the day of SummerSlam 2020 (by the end of the show)
2) The nomination process for 2020 will end on August 1, 2020.
3) You can only vote for nominated matches. See nomination process.
4) The ballot will consist of 100 matches. You must submit a complete ballot with 100 Matches
Nomination Process
In order for a match to be eligible to be voted on in the Greatest Match Ever Project, it must be nominated.
The process if very simple.
1) Start a thread for a match (that hasn't already had the process started on it) in the Nomination Process section of the board.
2) In that thread, three people must advocate for the match, which can be a simple "second" or "third" OR you can submit a direct nomination by writing a one paragraph case for the match. If you are not a mod you must still put direct nominations in the Nomination Process forum.
3) After that is completed, a mod will move the match from the Nomination Process section to the Nominees section. Any nominations submitted after Aug. 1st will not be considered. We may be moving nominations after. If you have questions about a match's nomination status just email a mod.

There are some folks I'm part of a wrestling Slack with who enjoyed reading through last year's ballot. Trying to see if I can get a few of them on board this year.

Yeah, please do. The more ballots the better the list.

Please do. I have a relatively limited reach on twitter, but I'll promote it as well.

I know the deadline for nominating matches is August 1, but have you guys decided on a deadline for moving matches into the Nominees section? There are several matches in the Nomination Process section that would likely end up on my ballot, and I obviously don't want to submit anything before I know for sure whether they're eligible.

I wouldn't worry about it, just nominate everything that might make your list so that it is in the nomination process before August 1st. They are eligible to be moved with a short one paragraph review and we can second and third as needed. Moving them is simply a formality then. A lot of matches should already be moved, I've just been lazy about it.

Yeah, same.... I just moved some over and am going to try to carve out some time between now and Aug to move more matches over.

Quick announcement... if there is a match in the "nomination process" section that is eligible to be moved over, but hasn't been you may still vote for it. We just got backed up too much. We are all working to get them over as we can, but we obviously don't want to dedicate all of our board time to that.

A suggestion going forward: please only nominate matches you can share with the group. After all, there's not much point in trying to start discussion of matches no one can see. Having a link to where the match can be streamed or downloaded would be ideal, but failing that, you should have your own copy that you can upload. I have plenty of space on my Google Drive account, so I can set up a folder for people to upload matches to.

I am for this as a strong suggestion, but maybe not a hard rule. I think the match should definitely be available SOMEWHERE (no match someone saw but never made tape). I'm going to archive this section soon and I'll spark up a discussion about this for next year in the discussions.

Personally, id prefer not to start down a path that could eventually limit the project to the 100 best matches available streaming for free.
No one has nominated a match "no one can see." The Ikeda vs Ishikawa match people have been searching for has been easily available for literally more than 2 decades. It was on a Schneider comp 20 years ago.
