Undertaker vs Mankind (Hell in a Cell – WWF King of the Ring – 6/28/98) Another one of those ultra famous matches that should probably be nominated.

This is going to be controversial. This gets the full five from me. Outside of all the nostalgia I have for this, I still think it's one of the best Attitude Era matches ever. Everyone involved in this got over. Foley's career was made because of his performance and The Undertaker looked like a monster. Because of the two horrific bumps, many people forget that the brawl they have once they are both locked in the cell is great stuff. From the bloody Foley smile to the steel steps and thumbtack spots, it completes this nasty little package. Every cell match owes something to this and WWE will try to recapture the magic of this night again and again, but they never will. There's a reason why WWE still shows that bump in their video packages 20+ years on.

Easy second. This might be the best HIAC ever. I'd rate this above Taker's matches with Michaels and Lesnar. Legendary and brutal of course but well constructed, especially considering all the "downtime". Won't be Top 100 but should make my Top 200.

I used to have this at 5* too but now I don't know. This is probably the most famous pro wrestling match in existance, but I guess i've seen those two spots so many times that the match doesn't connect with me anymore.

I think this is a really good spectacle and WWE can never live up to this cell match again in terms of spectacle. It lacks for me in terms of just pro wrestling psychology. In wrestling watcher eyes I can't overlook that part. Still one of the most dangerous feeling and the greatest pro wrestling spectacle match of all time. For that I give ****1/4

Yeah this is gonna be a weird criticism, but I do find it bizarre that after Foley takes those two horrendous bumps and still gets up, Taker's next thought is "alright I'll work the arm". What.
