544-T. Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Nick Bockwinkel (Hawaii - 2/14/1979)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: EnviousStupid - 88
Sadly, I don't find this as good as I desire to. I love early Jumbo and Bock is one of my favourite wrestlers ever and a #1 contender, and this has te reputation of being their best match together, but... It's just too basic for me. And they don't exploit the basics in a way that makes the match feel bigger. It also overstays its welcome. Still a good match, but damn I wanted a classic.
544-T. Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant (WWF - 3/29/1987)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: JKWebb - 89
Interesting pick. The ringwork is awful but hey, this is one of the greatest matches of all time when it comes to importance and trascendence, if not the actual greatest. So gotta respect that, I'll give it that.
544-T. Jumbo Tsuruta & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Genichiro Tenryu & Toshiaki Kawada (AJPW - 2/23/1989)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: andyLFC - 88
I'm not really into the Jumbo/Tatsu team (I'm not really into Yatsu, actually) but, as I said, Tenryu is the GOAT tag team wrestler so... Maybe if I rewatch this something clicks for me this time.
544-T. El Hijo del Santo vs. Brazo de Oro (UWA - 1/13/1991)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Gramski - 88
Ok this match is fucking great. Brazo de Oro is so ruthless, you gotta love it, he pushes Santito to his more violent persona while still wrestling a kinda technical match, and it's so cool to see. I need to rewatch because now that I think about it, it might have a strong chance to make my list.
544-T. Akira Maeda vs Volk Han (RINGS - 4/3/1992)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Control21 - 88
Haven't seen this. Hopefully by now Volk has become better and Maeda tries to wrestle a great bout. I'm sure they can have a classic together.
544-T. Ricky Steamboat/Shane Douglas vs. Barry Windham/Brian Pillman (WCW - 12/28/1992)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: NintendoLogic - 88
This is very interesting and I'm not really sure I have watched it before. It's early 90s WCW, one of my favourite eras for any promotion, so maybe? But I don't remember a single thing and that bothers me, because I feel I should. There's only one way to fix this, Tetsujin...
544-T. Kenta Kobashi vs Stan Hansen (AJPW – 4/10/1994)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Cap - 88
What a satisfying match. The big payoff of Kobashi's journey against Hansen. If only it had a better commentary audio...
544-T. Atsushi Onita vs Great Sasuke (Michinoku Pro - 10/30/94)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Elliott - 88
I don't wanna watch this. I love Onita's aura... when he's not actually wrestling.
544-T. Shinobu Kandori vs Megumi Kudo (LLPW - 1/5/1997)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Kas - 88
Two of the most underrated wrestlers ever giving us an under the radar gem. Iirc, the only version available is clipped, and that's a fucking shame. Please, tell me we have the full thing on tape. Pleeeeaseee.
544-T. Batista vs Triple H (WWE - 6/26/2005)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Tetsujin - 88
Ok, hear me out. Yes, it is a Triple H match. Yes, it doesn't involve neither Bryan nor Mick Foley. BUT. This is the final showdown of the only feud HHH has ever worked in a right way, and if HHH is good at something is at WWE gimmick matches, and he is so vicious in this HIAC, you gotta appreciate it. Batista does a wonderful job too, obviously; this is his best match by far. Give it a try, seriously.
544-T. Giulia vs Tam Nakano (Stardom - 3/3/2021)
Total Points: 13
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Grimmas - 88
I don't have any idea about this. Pandemic era puroresu is so depressing for me because crowds aren't able to do shit. But hey if the ringwork is great it can still work to a degree, so who knows.
538-T. Bob Backlund vs Ken Patera (WWF - 5/19/1980)
Total Points: 14
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Superstar Sleeze - 87
I remember this. It was fun, but it also had some stupid shit. The importance of working mostly around the center of the ring wasn't discovered yet in the 80s, sadly.
538-T. De Leon/Ultimo Dragon vs Negro Casas/El Dandy (CMLL - 7/18/1993)
Total Points: 14
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Control21 - 87
I haven't watched this. Now that I think about it, I've never seen a Corazón de León match. Sounds cool.
538-T. Ric Flair vs Vader (WCW - 12/27/1993)
Total Points: 14
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: EnviousStupid - 87
Oh, this is a great match, for sure. It could have been much better, obviosuly, but you gotta respect how post-prime Flair was able to goe toe to toe with peak Vader.
538-T. Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith vs Owen Hart & Bob Backlund (WWF - 2/26/1995)
Total Points: 14
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: NintendoLogic - 87
It's been such a long time... Is it THAT good? I mean, it have DBS and old Backlund in it. Bret and Owen have a lot to carry here.

This is excellent. I'm always want to rewatch it but never get to do it, don't know why. But I need to this time, I want it to be on my list.
531-T. Modesto Aledo vs Teddy Boy (French Catch - 10/13/1960)
Total Points: 15
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: mvz - 86
French Catch is a super blind spot for me. I've only watched the Cesca/Catanzaro match and it was pretty fun, so this might be good as well? But I don't know either of these guys and never heard about them in any way. Ah, so many questions...
531-T. Kerry Von Erich vs Jumbo Tsuruta (AJPW - 5/22/1984)
Total Points: 15
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Superstar Sleeze - 86
So low? I expected more votes for this one. This is the best 80s Jumbo match besides 1989 Tenryu, and yes, I would put it higher than the Choshu/Yatsu tag, the 1989 RWTL Finals, the Flair trilogy of whatever. The only one that comes close is one of the Martel matches (although I don't remember exactly which one was my favourite, duh). But yeah this is cool as hell.
531-T. Ted DiBiase vs Dick Murdoch (Mid-South - 12/31/1985)

Ok, this might be what I've been looking for when it comes to Murdoch. I'll see it soon, definitely.

Another instant classic, only overshadowed because of Queendom (understandably). Gotta rewatch it NOW.

On the weakest side of their matches together, but still better than the 1993 Finals
531-T. La Parka, Rey Mysterio Sr & Halloween vs Rey Mysterio Jr, Damian 666 & Vampiro (Tijuana - 10/26/2001)
Total Points: 15
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Elliott - 86
This might be my favourite lucha tríos match ever, it has to be either this one or Infernales/Brazos. Park in particular gives us one of the greatest performances of all time, and most of the interactions feel special. Rey was amazing too. There were some nonsense but it was either hilarious or unnecesarily violent, so I'm not going to bother. Great pick, Elliot.
531-T. Lacey vs Sara Del Rey (Shimmer - 6/2/2007)

522-T. Chigusa Nagayo vs Dump Matsumoto (AJW - 4/5/1986)
Total Points: 16
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Grimmas - 85
Ok, first Dump match on the list. Guess I'll have to say it now. I hate her. I don't like her work, she is annoying, gets old really fast and drags every single one of the matches I saw her in. I don't like the two Hair matches (the first one is acceptable) and I'm sure I won't like this one either.
522-T. Randy Savage vs. Tito Santana (WWF - 4/22/1986)

High Vote: Darren - 85
Haha, love a vote for this one. It was really dissapointing for me because they could have done something muuuuch more complex and different, but they just wanted to exchange blows. That's fair, and they still did it in a good way, but it's a little bit of a shame. Think about the matwork exchanges these two could have had.
516-T. Tatsumi Fujinami vs Dynamite Kid (NJPW - 2/5/1980)

Great match, probably Dynamite Kid's best ever (I hate the Tiger Mask series), but honestly, only a little example of Fujinami's potential. One of the best matches of 1980, that's for sure.

You know what, I really like this. It isn't either guy's best match but still a pretty cool championship bout. And, while it is long, I think they use the time they were given much more efficiently than you might hope.

The May one is at Payback, right? I think both of their matches together are on the same level: excellent matches held back by unnecesary WWE overbooking and questionable finishes, so sadly neither of them make my list, but damn did they had chemistry. Why haven't they repeated this match ever since?

Is this the first one of the rivalry? I loved the first two matches, the perfect dramatic WWE story. Then they decided to have them fight again. And then they added Adam Cole to the mix. And again. And again. And again... But hey, I think it's unfair to take all those future things into account while judging this particular match, because this one stands pretty greatly on its own.
