Okada's notable by his absence in this thread. I've watched very little of New Japan over the past few years - what are peoples thoughts on him? I have been generally down on NJPW in the past couple years so that skews me away a bit and means. In addition, I am a touch lower on Okada on the whole than those who will make his case. Those two things spell breaking even in the 2020s for me. I wouldn't say he has hurt his case, but I wouldn't say he has helped it much either for my taste.

Bryan has always been at least top 6 for me (that top 6 is SUPER competitive), but he's actively adding to his case every time he's on TV.
If Shingo continues to put on good work in NJPW, he'll be hard to deny as well.

Punk was one of two people I left off my 2016 list that not even a week later I felt like I really should've voted for. Then I rejigged my ballot in 2019 and left him off again and felt okay about it, because ultimately I'm just not that high on him. But I've been doing a mega deep dive into AEW the last couple weeks and this run is pretty easily my favourite stretch of his career, to the point where I think I'll have him on there somewhere in 2026. Almost certainly if he continues like this for another few years.
Danielson is a pretty obvious one. I'm far from the high voter on him as well, but I watched the Omega match and it's absolutely the most I've ever enjoyed anything with Kenny Omega in it so that might be enough for him to crack the top 15 alone.
Darby Allin is fucking great and I'd consider him for a lower spot even now. If he stays at or around this level for another four years (provided he doesn't Jerry Estrada himself first) then he's probably a lock.
Don't have much clue about anyone from Japan. I sporadically try and get into modern New Japan and it never works, and for some guys it really only confirms that they have no shot. Shingo would've maybe been top 400 in 2016 but after my last attempt he's closer to top 700. Ikeda and Ishikawa had a match in Germany in 2020 and Ikeda kicked Ishikawa so hard the referee nearly puked so that probably pushes them up a few slots into the top 10. I have no clue whatsoever on 2020s joshi and it might take me until 2026 to get caught up on the 80s joshi, so who knows what'll happen there.

Gonna go with a bit of an outside pick and say Wotan. With the Fishman Jr tag in 2020 and the 2 Trauma I matches this year he's definitely shot up for me.

Sting definitely did. Christian just ended an all time title reign, too.

1. Darby Allin/MJF - They share the top spot simply because they didn't have a case before the 2020s and now they have fairly compelling ones
2. Gunther - This decade, he has transformed from a unique prospect with decent qualifications to one of the modern greats
3. Bryan Danielson - His AEW run has pushed him to the cusp of the Top 5
4. Sami Zayn - I liked him in ROH and NXT but the Jackass and Bloodline stuff has really elevated his stock
5. Kenny Omega/Kazuchika Okada/Josh Barnett/Chris Jericho - Probable locks that have further consolidated their candidacy with expansion of respective resumes
Honorable mention: Jon Moxley - Not a contender earlier but now I'm at least considering him
