So…what are people excited about?
I am looking forward to the main event, the women’s title matches, the tag titles match, and Rey-Dom. This may be optimistic but seems like there is less of a chance for Rollins and edge to wreck my enthusiasm as they have done in many recent live events in the last few years.
Anyone interested in ROH or other mania weekend shows?

I don’t watch WWE tv but on paper there’s a lot of cool matchups.
Gunther/Sheamus/Drew will be a blast, Logan Paul & Rollins should be fine, I already like Logan as a wrestler better than I do Rollins and this iteration of Rollins is probably the most interesting. Dom and Rey should be cool. KO & Sami v. The Usos will hopefully deliver. That’s been a fun storyline. Brock and Omos is the match I’m most looking forward to though.
I don’t know much about the other shows of the weekend. I don’t have time to follow this stuff. I know everyone gets excited about it though. I usually watch a match or two after the fact.

I refuse to watch a Finn Balor/Edge Hell in a Cell match. I thought somebody was playing a joke on me when I read that.

I gotta watch the Kingston/Claudio match even though I’m already heartbroken over the finish.

From what I saw of Supercard, looks like it's the new show to beat this year.

Best WM ever made. I have absolutely not even one small complain about it. Not even one. And definitely not with the main event

Missed this thread before. I enjoyed most of the wrestling this weekend, though I only watched Mania nights 1 and 2, supercard, and blood sport. There was a lot to sink one's teeth into on those cards.

The only thing I saw from the weekend was the Shane injury. 5 stars. Great work everyone!

Snoop Dog throwing Necro-esque punches to safe the segment was legit one of the highlights of the weekend.

Fantastic weekend.
I loved the Dominick/Rey match, though it was less than what it could’ve been.
The Logan Paul/Seth Rollins was a fun match. Like all of Logan Paul’s match’s and none of Seth Rollins’
Logan Paul is the best example of somebody who Just gets professional wrestling and is excels so well and on the other side you have 15+ year veteran Seth Rollins in the most over the top yet confusingly nothing gimmick possible. Anyhow. Good match.
The tag match main event was great, I’ve been following both of those guys for years and It was a fantastic moment and a satisfying match. I am not quite understanding some of the praise for it but I’m not opposed to it.
The IC 3 way was the best match on either card. I hate 3 way matches on principle and have not a single complaint about that match structure. What a goddamn treat.
I think Eddie/Claudio might be match of the weekend though.
I also don’t believe there was any matches I would consider for this project. But there was a lot of good fun stuff.

I attended WM live. Fun show. The IC title match is a MOTYC but Night 1 was much superior. Rollins/LP, the main event tag, Charlotte/Rhea were all good to really good. Rey vs. Dominick was enjoyable as hell even if the actual wrestling was sloppy.

This has to be a fun show live, glad you got to be there micro.
Agree that the IC title match was the best match of either night. Both main events were great, both women’s title matches were great, most other stuff was solid/fun.
It appears that the goodwill is gonna get flushed quickly with Vince rearing his hideous head, but this is up there on the list of best manias for me.

Some nifty matches this weekend that have really stuck with me in the past few days. As you will see, I think many of the best matches of the weekend were really about great heels playing their part to perfection. I only watched four shows, but my top matches of the weekend currently are... 1) Zayn/Owens v Usos: Watched it twice and it felt like something truly top shelf to me, lightening in a bottle stuff. The heels were pitch perfect in this to be threatening and legit without needing too many shenanigans to be competitive. The Usos felt like the true final bosses of wrestling in this. Owens and Zayn are sentimental favorites for me as well, so watching this come together and get this shining moment felt special. I think everything just clicked here. The pacing, the selling, the narrative beats.... all capped off by a truly special finish.
2. Eddie Kingston vs Claudio Castagnoli: Stunning stuff. This match was physical and pacy and urgent without losing any of the detail and nuance that I love to luxuriate in. Kingston trying to turn every single moment into a scrap was top shelf pro wrestling and Claudio has never felt more like a main eventer than he did in this moment, being a big, physical, strong, and technical bully who is absolute hell to bring down.
3. Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley: Say what you will about the way Charlotte is presented, but every once in a while she reminds you that she is quite good at this. While Rhea often looked like the star she is turning into during this match, Charlotte was the star of the show to me. Where Rhea was at times melodramatic, Charlotte was measured. Her selling was stellar and she presented herself as the one to beat here. It gave Rhea a true dragon to slay.
4. Gunther vs Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre: Big meaty men slapping meat. Hoss fights are tough to get right sometimes, especially when you throw three hosses in the mix, but when its done well it fucking rules. The level of difficulty here might be higher than any other match of the weekend. They worked wonders with the combination of pace and physicality. I think the ending was solid, but it felt slightly aburpt. I need to come back to it. I can see me being a big higher on it over time. I can also see me weirdly being the low guy on it next to its many champions. I can't imagine a world where I don't see it as awesome.
5. Bianca Belair vs Asuka: This feels like it is going a bit under the radar for folks. I loved this. I can certainly see it jumping up my yearly list. I thought Asuka presented a unique and fresh puzzle for Bianca in this and they were really clicking. This had a lot of pace and physicality to it Bianca is really becoming the premier wrestlemania performer. It is impressive to watch.
6. Timothy Thatcher vs Josh Barnett: I absolutely adored this match. Tight grappling, great facial expressions, and quality selling. Barnett playing his own type of final bosses and Thatcher working every angle to overcome that boss was really something fun. I think Thatcher thrives here, where he can tell his story with facial expressions and physicality. This is another one I can see myself being higher on down the rode.
7. Wheeler Yuta vs Katsuyori Shibata: Really fun little match featuring some solid ebbs and flows in the action that showed Shibata as the clearly superior guy while not quite going into squash territory. This brought the master/apprentice relationship so common in Japanese tag matches to this broader fued between the LA Dojo and the BCC. This feels like a small, but fun and important, chapter in a bigger story.
8. Jon Moxley vs Alex Coughlin: This feel a bit underrated. Coughlin is strong as a fucking ox and he used that to give Mox a run for his money. Given that this was a late replacement, I I thought they over-performed and outpaced the hype it got before or after the night. This was dope.
9. El Hijo del Vikingo vs Komander: I was sort of multi-tasking during this one, which is the last match to do that with. I need to go back to it, but I enjoyed what I was able to focus on and catch. I am by no means an anti-flippy guy, but to really rank highly with me, those flips better still have good bones to em. It feels like they delivered that. Vikingo really stepping into the U.S. mainstream light has been fun.
10. Samoa Joe vs Mark Briscoe: Similar to the last match, I need to get back to this with a little more focus, but I was really enjoying the dynamic. The finish felt a little deflating, but I thought they did a great job of selling a fight that played to both men's strengths.

Watched both nights of WrestleMania.
Cena vs Theory - Cena looks different - smaller, paler, plastic surgery. Same old jean shorts. Never seen Theory before. I see he's just sort of a generic skinny muscley guy who works exactly like generic skinny muscley guy. I hate that rolling dropkick thing from the apron as much as you'd think. Ok, I'm enjoying his stomping & shit talking that was fun. We worked into a sleeper and hey that was fun! Oh shit, this was good. Simple. Get rid of those stupid rolling drop kicks.
4 Team Match - Utter shit. If all they did was the german suplex on Braun it'd have been cool. Otherwise awful.
Seth Rollins vs Logan Paul - Fuck this was even worse than I expected. I guess if you're into spots but its not like they're particularly spectacular. Ricochet was in the last match. Seth looks terrible (no surprise there) and when he's not doing KEWL FLIPZ Logan Paul looks like a guy who has had 5 matches. Was surprised to see it was only 16 minutes becasue it felt like 30.
Womens' Trios - Felt like a TV match. Becky in peril was good. Lita was terrible. Trish was good. Ok match.
Rey vs Dominick is up next - video package is the 1st time I'm seeing Dominick. That he has a mullet & dressed up like a Gringo loco tells me he's a piece of shit. "I served hard time." Ugh. Pretty cringy stuff here. Gotta say I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Rey still looks good. The outside the ring family bullshit worked pretty well for me. Pleasantly surprised.
Charlotte vs Ripley - Ripley has an incredible look. Really wanted to like this but 20+ minutes of countering & bad selling is not my idea of a good time.
Miz vs Pat McAfee - I dunno who McAfee is so I didn't care about this at all.
Main Event Tag - Well, before this match started I would've said I've never seen a Kevin Owens match I liked. I watched this and I've still never seen a Kevin Owens match that i liked. If you have an enemy trick them into playing a superkicks drinking game during this. I'm glad fans of Owens & Sami got to watch this and experience it and they got to have this moment together & even I'm happy for them. Incredibly boring.
Night 1 Rankings 1. Rey vs Dom 2. Cena vs Theory 3. Women's Trios 4. 4 Way Tag Team Match 5. Miz match 6. Seth Rollins Match 7. Ripley match 8. Main Event
Night 2
Brock vs Omos - Awesome spectacle. Brock sells even when he goes on offense. A truly revolutionary idea for these shows.
Fatal 4 Way Tag - I enjoyed it for a fun spot fest with distinct characters with their own strategies & styles and then the double sharpshooter happened and I stopped caring.
3 Way - Lasted a fucking eternity. I'm happy it happened for those who enjoyed it. Boring as hell.
Bianca Belair vs Asuka - Some stuff I didn't really like but some I liked a lot. Overall good stuff.
Miz vs Snoop - MOTDC
Edge match - No fucking way am I watching an Edge match.
Roman vs Cody - Last time I saw Cody, like 25% of him was purple. Paul Heyman sucks & he's always sucked. A lot I liked about this and a lot I didn't. I think after two full shows, every counter (of which there are many throughout both nights) becomes completely telegraphed. I've also just never really liked Cody's offense. Roman looks great as usual. It's fine. Night 2 Ranking: 1. Miz vs Snoop 2. Bock vs Omos 3. Roman vs Cody 4. Bianca vs Asuka 5. 4 team tag 6. 3 Way 7. Edge Match
