83) Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (WWE, 7/20/2008)
The pinnacle of a blood feud, dripping with antagonism and rugged exchanges at every turn that culminates in a blood-soaked battering that outdoes nearly every punch-laden brawl.

It is a killer match with something for everyone. Speaking of Thesz, another title defense:
82) Lou Thesz vs. Buddy Rogers (Chicago, 6/21/1950)
Thesz switches gears from the roughhousing heel to an honorable fighting champion in the face of a flamboyant yet tenacious challenger and endeavors to weather a hailstorm of underhanded tactics.

81) Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs. Kazuo Yamazaki (UWF, 7/24/1989)
I've been the biggest booster of their 4/15/1990 sequel in the past but this match is clearly better. Fujiwara's supercilious outlook and casual approach are thwarted by Yamazaki's tenacious determination and necessitate something more forceful to forestall an inevitable draw or even a potential upset.

A culmination of a storied career as the surgical maestro has to rekindle his vicious side to overcome his disgruntled former student.

78) Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Jack Brisco (AJPW, 8/28/1976)
The veteran is steadily pushed to the brink of desperation by the vigor of the up-and-comer in this ideal realization of 70s championship wrestling.

Unfortunately, I'm finding it difficult to include assessments for each match. So I changed my mind and have decided to release my list en mass. I'll add a comment if there is something noteworthy to say.

75) Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW, 4/7/2013)
This is wrestling 101. The confident challenger strives to dethrone the ace, who fights tooth-and-nail to hold on to his position and championship. Tanahashi worked the arm to neutralize the Rainmaker while Okada worked the neck to potentiate it. Neither deviated from their tactics and the more offensive-minded strategy prevailed.
