I voted this #44.
Total classic. This doesn't have the shenanigans or bells and whistles that many of the other most highly rated Memphis matches do - just a straight up wrestling match between two stars with the highest of stakes. Perhaps the definitive/archetypal Lawler as ace match as he expertly sells being beaten and bloodied before making his fiery, strap-dropping comeback with the Coliseum going wild. But more than that I think Dundee here gives one of the best individual performances ever. His energy is off the charts and of course his punches are legendary. He believably controls (at times dominates) Lawler and builds great heat on him in and outside the ring despite his size disadvantage. And despite being the underdog and until recently a huge babyface to these fans - he's able to do it all in a way that never makes you want to root for him. He projects this perfect cocktail of insecurity and viciousness. He wrestles a surprisingly clean match but still feels opportunistic. He bumps and stooges for all Lawler's offense but he always feels a threat. Start to finish, it's a clinic.

Good timing and selling, but some punches didn’t look good since it was very obvious how they didn’t connect with the rival. Great comebacks by Lawler in a good match that doesn’t reach the status of all-time classic that I remembered.
