Shinobu Kandori vs Bull Nakano (Chain Match - AJW/LLPW - 7/14/1994)
I am relatively high on this match and am completely fine with that. It is probably my second favorite women's match ever, but beyond that I truly believe it is a top-shelf match (not just my favorite). This is so physical and brutal. it shows off just how great Kandori is as not just a bad ass, but as an underdog that can keep up with the monsters. The crowd brawling in this is pretty great. There are some stiff shots in that section particularly. The whole thing is just fantastic to me. I'd be genuinly surpirsed if this doesn't make my list and I might wind up being the high vote on it.

Seconded. Yeah. This match fucking rocks. Two of the toughest wrestlers ever in a chain match just beating the shit out of each other. Kandori is a really underrated seller I think and she rocks in this. Bull is Bull. I'll have this higher than Vader vs Sting Strap Match.

A violent match. These two just beat the crap out of each other. One of the most awesome brawls of the 1990s.

From my rewatch write up on 7/16/2018 Shinobu Kanori vs Bull Nakano (Chain Match – 7/14/1994) Current Rank: 32 Trending: Down-ish This match might represent the biggest gulf between me and what I sort of understand the “general opinion” on a match to be. While I see it get praise, I rarely see it counted among the truly great matches of all time; however, much like Guerrero/JBL I have watched this a number of times trying to see if I am wrong and I just don’t think I am. I just can’t see this as anything other than absolutely great. Kandori and Bull are two of the most believable wrestlers to ever get in the ring and they beat the ever-loving hell out of each other with a god-damned chain. What is their not to love? This match excels when it comes to producing captivating visuals and awe-inspiring violence. Really, watch this back and look at some of the scenes/moments they create. This is filled with just great images of violence. It is pretty easily my second or third favorite women’s match (which I only specify because women’s wrestling probably makes up less than 5% of all wrestling I have seen in my life). It's a match you can watch in a vacuum and enjoy with no problem. It holds up across time and space. Its also brings big time rewatch value (which I care about) However, if its going anywhere, Kandori/Bull is probably going down. My general opinion of the match is unchanged, but its competing with some heavy hitters here in the 30s. Additionally, as I round out my blind spots I am finding some affinity for some new stuff to, so there may just be new matches taking some pretty prized spots. Regardless, I can see it dropping closer to the middle of the pack. Full post can be found here: gweproject.freeforums.net/thread/657/caps-watching-project-reports#ixzz5NS2Iosla

I just watched this for the first time today and it's easily made my list. Who has ever incorporated a gimmick into a match like these two used the chain here? I'm thinking maybe Taker vs. Shawn Hell In A Cell but that's about it. The way they found a hundred ways to utilise the chain to inflict damage and brutality on each other made this so enthralling to watch. I can't think of a match quite like it. 5 Stars for me.

As we head toward the deadline I am alternating between rewatching matches to confirm that they belong and watching contenders that I haven’t seen before. Rewatching this made me even more confident that being stupid high on it is the right thing. 20 or so minutes of violence and mayhem. Bull is so badass and Kandori never gives up the fight. Encouraging everyone to give this a try if you haven’t seen it yet.

This had some of the best crowd-brawling I’ve ever seen and some of the best work with a chain as well. They both laid it all out there and Bull came on strong at the end with legdrops. Splendid stuff.

I voted this #89.
I saw this not long before the deadline and threw it straight onto my ballot just from the single watch. There's not a lot of nuance here, just two badass wrestlers doing violence at each other with a chain and trying to out-tough the other. The selling point is obviously the brutal spots they are able to work using the chain, and they sure do deliver. Not least the chain-assisted leg drop to the face near the end, which Kandori is absolutely crazy for taking.
Being critical, some of the transitions maybe come a little easy given the damage they inflict upon one another, though the final one to transition to the finishing run (Bull catching Kandori off guard by flicking the chain into her injured eye) is a great one.

They offer us some of the best visuals of all time. Brutal match where both wrestlers find different and creative ways to hurt each other with the chain. Full of awesome moments like when Kandori uses the chain to lock Nakano’s arm or when Nakano tries to murder Kandori by hanging her with the chain. A top 50 candidate.
****5/8
