Rey Misterio Jr vs Psicosis (AAA - 9/22/1995)
I know people who think this is the best Rey Jr match and it is definitely in consideration for that. If its the best Rey Jr match, it has to be considered for the list. This is an awesome long match with lots of enormous spots but also great pacing and selling. These guys were so great together. Awesome match. I hope people who haven't seen it check it out.

Seconded.
The first two falls are some nice matwork and good high flying, enough to wet your whistle. When it goes to the third fall this match goes bonkers. Psicosis bumps and catches like a madman. Insane tope by Psicosis, which Rey tries to top with an insane Asai moonsault. From there it keeps building and building with a great pace. The finish rules too. Love this.

This the one on the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD where Psicosis mocks the Mysterio chant?

This the one on the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD where Psicosis mocks the Mysterio chant? No it is not. It's this match Rey Misterio Jr vs Psicosis 9/22/95Anyway this match has an extremely exciting third fall but I didn't find the first two either particularly exciting in themselves or something that played into the last fall. The match woulda been better if it was just the final fall to be honest, even if we would've missed out on Psicosis winning a fall with one of the most lucha-y submissions ever applied. Top 5 dives in this match: 5. Mysterio's springboard plancha 4. Mysterio's Asai Moonsault 3. Psicosis' Corkscrew moonsault from the corner 2. Psicosis' Undertaker dive 1. Mysterio's springboard front flip seated senton
I enjoyed it but i think i like their bash at the beach match better. Thirded ****

First, let me state for the record that I'm not a big fan of lucha. I keep trying to get into it, and I keep having the same issues with the style as a whole. This match is kind of a perfect example of why I'm not a big fan of the style. The first two falls of this match are kind of useless. They just seem to be there as a prelude, but nothing that happens in either of the first two falls has any bearing on the third fall at all. The third fall is straight up dope though. Rey and Psicosis are pretty much tailor-made to wrestle each other. Rey seems to have 100% trust in Psicosis' ability to catch him no matter how crazy of a dive he tries, and Psicosis never lets him down. Psicosis does a great job of protecting him, but still bumping like he was hit by a bullet. This match probably won't make my list, but that is probably due to my lack of love for lucha than anything these two actually did in this match.

This was a fun match with a bunch of different flavors. The matwork was good and something I don’t associate with Rey but it helped the match stand out. Then the third fall was great stuff as they take to the air. The crowd was really into what they were doing.
These two are great together of course. I am probably listing their ECW match, and have this lower than that one, but this is something worth considering for sure.

Fantastic lucha libre action here. The dives, especially the crazy tope by Psicosis, were next level. I personally prefer the aesthetic and intensity of the ECW match the next month but recognize that this had a stronger build throughout. Loved this.
