Dynamite Kansai & Mayumi Ozaki vs Yumiko Hotta & Takako Inoue (JWP - 1/15/1993)
Super underrated match that gets lost in the greatness of 1992-1994 Joshi. This is an incredible tag match with ridiculous pace and character work. Hotta is awesome as the ass stomper taking it to Kansai & Ozaki and Takako is great as the overmatched junior partner taking an ass kicking. Kansai is her typical brutal self and Ozaki is one of the best wrestlers in the world in this era. The thing that really separates it is the HEAT. The crowd is fucking nuts for all of this. Awesome match that I don't want to see get lost in the avalanche of nominees.

I like wrestlers kicking out of moves that look like they should've killed them so I like this match. Worked at your usual crazy 90s joshi pace which is always a good thing to me. This match has both the japanese tag thing of each team having a junior and senior member and an american style heat section with a hot tag. The negative on this is mainly that I felt it wore out it's welcome, a good finish 20 minutes in and it could've made my list but instead it meanders on. Nitpicky thing is two spots that were immersion breaking to me: Ozaki bumping for an imaginary arm drag and Takako going for a dive, seeing Dynamite isnt ready to catch her so she stops goes to the apron and hits and axe handle.

Hahaha oh wow, Kansai and Hotta stepping up and just killing everybody was awesome. This followed that simplistic action -> hold, action -> hold ad nauseum formula a lot of early 90s joshi matches did because there was no extended selling or anything the result was largely mindess, but the restholds were pretty vicious and they kept dropping the bombs. I was still amazed that this never dragged altough it could have 10 minutes shaved off. The finishing run was something today's workers would probably get grilled over and they also hit those shitty dives, but it worked in the 90s cause things were heated and urgent.

The violence and brutality carries this, but it was such that I thought it mostly made up for how go-go-go it (mostly) was. I agree that it could've done with having some time shaved off and I actually thought the final third was the weakest stretch of the match, but heat was always there. I'm not an Ozaki fan in the slightest, but I thought she was a pretty great scrappy underdog being abused by bully Hotta. Hotta is of course an excellent bully and some of her shots in this were horrific.

1993-01-15 Mayumi Ozaki & Dynamite Kansai vs. Takako Inoue & Yumiko Hotta (JWP @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan) This was a great inter-promotional match and it kinda set the tone for a great year in joshi puroresu. Great action and plenty of stiffness. The crowd was really into this inter-promotional match. There is certainly a chance this will be in my top 100.

Terrific match that trumps the more famous tags against Toyota and Yamada. As great as those matches are, they don't always hold my attention for the duration just because there's SO MUCH going on. There's definitely a lot going on in this match as well, but I think the violence and urgency sets it apart from the others. Kansai and Hotta in particular are fantastic with their strikes.
