Aja Kong vs Dynamite Kansai (WWWA World Singles Championship - AJW - 8/30/1995)
Classic world title match between two of the best wrestlers ever. This is an awesome heavyweight fight with both women beating the shit out of each other and throwing bombs. Their matches together always felt like a big deal almost like the women's version of Vader vs Takada or something. So this has great atmosphere to go a long with the great in ring work. Something I'll need to rewatch but I could see making my ballot.

Second
For some reason in my brain I thought I nominated this. I love this match. This is such a brutal and visceral match. They throw some bombs at each other. It starts with a big fight feel that just builds and builds and builds and builds. Its wears you out watching it because their offense jumps off the screen. Two of the best at their best. I love this match.

Probably my favorite joshi series. They just nailed the heavyweight superfight dynamic. I need to go back and watch the other matches to pick a favorite, but this has a shot.

A match I'm really conflicted on upon a rewatch. I really enjoyed it overall. There were a few moments here and there that I didn't love but it is small stuff. Kansai's headbutts being absolutely terrible stood out. There were a couple of times they screwed up the timing on some pretty tricky spots like Kansai going for a leg sweep as Kong did a uraken. It looked awkward.
Other than that and other teeny tiny things like it, this fucking rocks. They stick to the things they do well, striking and hitting each other with bombs. I thought the pacing was really good. It starts hot but still has a feeling of escalation.
I will say I absolutely hated when Aja rolled out near the end and had her arm worked on by her ringside crew, getting sprayed down and taped up. I get that is something that happens a lot, but I felt it was such a crucial and late portion of the match that it really ground the momentum they had built to a halt. This was something I was thinking about as a lock for my list and then that little break really took me out of the match. Shame. This was great shit. I had always thought of this as their best match but I guess I need to go rewatch the others now.

I have really liked Dynamite in most of what I have seen and both wrestlers are great but this fell short of the tippy top level for me. The incident with the arm was part of the issue, but I didn’t feel that escalation and emotional connection that others felt.
