My pick for the best match of the 70s. A great mix of superb technical skill, high end storytelling and character work and some nice comedy. Narrative wise, builds off their 10/75 flawlessly. Not really hateful or violent but still manages to be very hard fought, struggle filled and intense.

My only problem is differentiating between the Grey-Myers matches, because I love them all. But I'll happily second this as a representative choice. If any two guys in the industry were putting on more impressive athletic showcases in 1975, I haven't seen them.

Thirded.
I've seen this and it is on my big list as a 5 star match. But I don't remember anything about it and wanted to push the nomination to make myself rewatch it. I also know this is super highly regarded and assume people will want to vote for it even if I don't remember any real specifics.

I have the date for this as 11/22/75? Is that a match date vs air date issue or am I looking at a different match?

Thanks
I loved this match. It strikes me as maybe the smoothest, niftiest match I have maybe ever seen. It has some good comedy sprinkled in, but it isn't without its edge as Clive gets frustrated with Grey throughout the match. I am viewing this out of context though so I don't really have a frame of reference for how this stacks up to other matches between the two or how it builds off. This is incredible though, sort of mesmerizing.

It enhanced the story of this match for me with Grey's growth and improvement (hence the frustration) and Myers being forced to shift gears.

Excellent match. This was played seriously for the most part but the bits of comedy that were interjected in the match here and there only added to the match. Grey was very teasing which only made Myers get more frustrated and urgent as the match went on. But what was most admirable was the outstanding technical wrestling. Grey had many tricky counters to Myers driven approach and matched him hold from hold. These two made me love the roll up exchange ala Eddie/Malenko. Great bout. ****1/4

Captivating match highlighted by some neat defensive wrestling and submission work by Grey. As with the bout in October, can’t quite overcome Myers, who gained an edge when the pace quickened. These two have really impressive chemistry, with some beautiful exchanges that still feel organic.

Yeah, I can't see this not making my top 50. It's my favourite match from the '70s too.
This was a fantastic display of technical wizardry and one-upmanship, with some tasteful comedy moments too. These guys paced this match well, and they threw the crowd a lightning-quick exchange before going back to the mat game. Clive Myers is agile as a cat and I love his delayed enziguri. The final round is incredibly tense. You never got the impression that these two hated each other during this and it just feels like two pros having a competitive bout to see who is the better man and it makes for a wholesome 20 minutes of wrestling. ★★★★★

Maybe the best WOS match. Action packed. Lives up to the hype. Wouldn't be my MOTD but I don't think it's a bad pick
