Andre vs Hansen is the greatest Hoss match of all time. This (and apparently the rematch, which I will have to hunt down) is probably #2 on that list. Two huge men in Vader and Big John on one side. A normal-sized athletic human being in Yamazaki on the other, paired with a huge man in Albright - who looks merely "very very big" in this context.
it's UWFi, so it's a more realistic style of Hoss battle: strikes, suplexes, and submissions only.
Big John is the immovable object that is almost impossible to hurt or damage. Vader is the clubbering machine. Yamazaki is the tough "little" guy who throws savage kicks. Albright is the suplexes machine who might just be strong enough to handle the Giants.
Everyone is superb in their role, they work the crowd like Heifetz works a violin, and it goes without saying that the action is stiff and intense.
best match Tenta was ever a part of, and it's either this or the Kawada match for Albright's best performance ever.
Do not sleep on this one!

Seconded
Not as high on it as you and can't find my review of it which hurts my soul. Two giants against a giant and a lighter shooter. Shoot style is prone to have dynamics play out, strategies unfold, and with a clear "weak" link on one of the teams it is great to see how it plays out. Vader is always lovely in the shoots.

I'm gonna 3rd this because it is such a veritable spectacle. Tenta shaking his head at Yamazaki after trying to kick him is still one of the funniest moments I've seen in a match. Albright is a better wrestler in theory than in reality most of the time but he lives up to his potential here launching the big guys around. Also, some great big/little interactions between Yamazaki and everyone else.

This was a very good big uglies match between Vader & Albright. Great heat there. Vader vs Yamazaki is super fun, but John Tenta is a blackhole of suck. The rematch is way better because it is all the great stuff without as much Tenta. Neither will make my Top 100.
Vader & John Tenta vs Gary Albright & Kazuo Yamazaki - UWFi 10/08/94
I accidentally watched the rematch first, but thats a good thing because the rematch is the better match precisely because there is less John Tenta. Tenta was trash in this. I thought he was totally useless. It is night and day between Tenta and Vader being there. I am just going to focus on Vader. I thought the Vader vs Albright interactions were better in the rematch until I watched the closing minute. That finish stretch was double hot. Yamazaki used his kicks to create the separation necessary to tag in Albright. Albright hits THREE MASSIVE Suplexes on Vader. Between this and the rematch, he is the best ever at suplexing Vader. These look gorgeous. I also really liked his cornerman screaming loudly "Kick him in the fucking head" twice. The whole point of these two matches is to build to Vader vs Albright as the next big main even feud and it does a great job doing that. But I thought it was Vader vs Yamazaki that had the best chemistry. These two are just made for each other. Some of the best stand up fighting ever in these two matches. Vader BLASTS Yamazaki on multiple occasions, but Yamazaki is not afraid to smoke Vader with some massive kicks. I have watched their singles match from when Vader first joined UWFi in 1993 and they are just great together. I recommend this match, but for my money the rematch is clearly better. ***1/2

I’ve been on a Tenta kick after the GWE watch party this week. I can’t fathom submitting a list that does not include John Tenta, so unless I make a strong case for a solo match this is my working #100. What a fun, explosive match and it’s the perfect way to start a list like this.

Fun, hard hitting match. Don't really see it as a candidate for my top 100 but I very much enjoy it.
