Giant Baba & Jumbo Tsuruta vs Terry Funk & Dory Funk Jr Real World Tag League AJPW 12/15/78
It's my 1978 MOTY. A bandaged up underdog Terry Funk gets the Japanese crowd all in on seeing the Funks win. If you haven't seen it something to keep in your head when watching is that Jumbo & Baba are one point in front of the Funks in the tag league so a draw is enough for them but The Funks need the win.
****1/2

Another great AJPW match from the 70s. Again, think about how over Terry Funk has to be to get cheered as a face in Japan in this era - this is more pronounced in the Funks feud with Sheik and Abby but it's also here too - as the crowd pulls for the underdog team.

Thirded.
I'm not sure if this will make my top 100 Greatest Matches Ever, even though these are two of my favourite teams from the 1970s. This was the final match in the 1978 AJPW Real World Tag League. The focus of the attack by Baba and Tsuruta was the lower back of Terry Funk. It was one of the best matches from 1978 (I think I prefer Flair vs. Steamboat from November 1978 though).
It's a great match, but my favourite match between these two teams is probably their match from December 1980.

It would basically be impossible for these 4 to have a bad match with each other in this era. Of course this is awesome. Goes long so it's on the slow side but it's still great.
