1993-12-10 Akira Hokuto & Manami Toyota vs. Kyoko Inoue & Toshiyo Yamada [“Tag League The Best” Final] (AJW @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan) These two teams had just finished working a very good match of about 15 minutes against each other, which resulted in this great tournament final. This was an epic battle with both teams giving 110% effort to try win this match. The finishing minutes were very exciting.

I'm assuming you have nominated both back to back matches here. Anyways, this is an excellent one-two punch with high end action and storytelling and a perfect way to cap off Hokuto's legendary 1993. Second.

Yes, both matches. The round robin tournament match and the tournament final immediately following the round robin tournament match.
Maybe I will just end up having the actual final match on my list though, to have one more spot for a different match. Although I'm considering putting both on my list. Not sure yet.
They should count as two separate matches for sure (because they are two separate matches).
The final is the climax of the story that is being told. It is the better match of the two, in my opinion. The first match, the robin tournament match, is a great match in its own right, but it sets up the big final match.
For those who don't know the story behind this match, this was part of an AJW tournament called "Tag League The Best." It was a round robin tournament (like NJPW Best of the Super Juniors and AJPW Real World Tag League, for example). Because of the result in the first match between these two teams, they ended up having the same amount of points in the tournament. That's the reason why they immediately had to have another match, the tournament final, to decide a winner in the "Tag League The Best" tournament.

Thirded. Yamada and Kyoko need the win in the first match, so they slow things down whenever they can and keep Hokuto and Toyota away from their usual devastating offense. They had Toyota and Hokuto scouted throughout the first match and had better overall cohesion, leading to them picking up the victory in the first match. They try the same strategy in the second match but this time Hokuto and Toyota learn from their mistakes and start countering moves that they fell prey to in the first match, and start gaining a foothold in the match. The nearfalls at the end were great and highly dramatic. Strong contender for my list.

If I'm allowed to treat this as one match with two falls then I will be voting for it. It's an incredible complete package and it's seems nonsensical to me to assess them as two separate matches when you can't even watch the "second" and have any clue what's going on without having seen the first.
