The 2nd best misawa vs kawada match. Has a good structure and narrative with match almost teetering on shoot. One of the most brutal wrestling matches imo. Just non stop violence not many pop ups like people claim. Clear narrative as kawada just cant take anything from misawa anymore and just despises him. He doesnt respect misawas moves and tries to get up and beat misawa in exchanges and dont fear em. Usual great exchanges as kawada throw everything at misawa but again finds he cant get the job done and instead of being desperate he goes to hurt misawa with 3 backdrops. Misawa does his usual visceral face expression and selling. The outside brawling is fine. And they do great sell not the going slow shit in fact one of their fatest matches. The selling is good due to how they treat them with headrops not being treated as instant death but slow death and exhusation. It didnt have a backstory like the 94 doc tc so that comparison dont work. The elbows to kawadas brain especially the corner reverse elbow exchange was great. As was misawa bone almost making a sound of breaking on that brainbuster was so violent. Maybe one of the most violent brainbuster and match in general. Great ending with misawa blasting kawada with a elbow and being too fucked up hoisting kawada with a sloppy german that was enough to pin a already knockdown guy. Beyond that their ustal great execution ko level strikes violence slow escalatiom the usual narrative that was with a lot realism and urgency in the end while also feeling like a huge pendulam shifting titans clash. Top 50 contender for me.

Second. Violent bomb fest with numerous head-drops and cringe-worthy moves. Paced brilliantly, with great escalation to the final few dramatic minutes. Great selling throughout, and a lot of callbacks to their previous matches. My second favourite Misawa/Kawada match behind their famous 94 match.

Thirded. Their 2nd best match but it’s probably the one between them that I’ve rewatched the most times. More than any other match between them, you can feel Kawada’s frustration at his inability to score a clean victory over Misawa as he tries so many different strategies to beat Misawa and refuses to respect any of his offense until the bitter end. He tries to outstrike him, use arm work, head drops, even submissions but he just ends up wearing himself out and falling prey to the usual position of getting suplexed to death. Also doesn’t hurt that it features some of the hardest strikes and head drops of any match out there.

Lost me in the first 4 minutes. I hate this kind of wrestling.
