Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Genichiro Tenryu (AJPW - 8/31/1987)

Their first big match and one that sets the tone for the rest of their rivalry with lots of great exchanges, disrespect, and big move teases. Jumbo wrestles as the confident ace seeking to fend off the unproven challenger in Tenryu.  The opening matwork is simple, but it kind works for building up the tension. Both guys end up stealing moves from each others' playbook to show their disdain for each other. Great put over job with Tenryu picking up the count-out win in the first big match between them.
