Jim Breaks gives one of his best performances for his last match with Joint Promotions. Hell of a spectacle as he's got pretty much the whole crowd against and plays them perfectly. Breaks does some nasty work on Collins until the kid bleeds. Collins sells great as the underdog. Great finish as well.

Jim Breaks was amazing, giving everyone a piece of his mind while putting some nasty stuff on Collins. Sometimes it’s a nasty submission, a ridiculous facial expression or a cheap shot after the fall, but Breaks is always doing something to keep you engaged.

Do you have a link to this one? Quite a few matches on YT but can't find one with this date. Edit: Found it (I think), I assume 5/5/84 was the air date. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrn08SJSfKMThirded. This will likely make the bottom half of my top 100. A Jim Breaks masterclass. He's such a versatile guy in general and you get all of it here. The technique, the smack talking etc. Most of all here he's a great hypocritical villain, dishing out punishment one minute and then complaining as soon as his opponent fires back. This is really the story of the match, and plays brilliantly into the finish given how Breaks had switched from his usual offence to attacking Collins' cut in earlier rounds. Collins did very well for himself, he looked totally fine on the mat, fired back when he needed to and was beloved by the crowd. The crowd in general were great here, really heated, old men in cardigans yelling and shaking their firsts, people throwing inflatable dummies into the ring. The football scores got me thinking - Breaks is really the Man U of WoS, as in most people will passionately support whoever he's facing. It's impossible not to draw comparisons with the 79-80 Breaks vs Young David and this series. I prefer the series with Davey Boy as he brings more than Collins and this feud as a whole felt like a redo of the Breaks vs Davey, but this was still fantastic pro wrestling. Another one for people who don't usually care for WoS. Come on people!

Might be my favorite WOS match. Just a tremendous Breaks performance. One for the ages.
