El Hijo del Santo vs Brazo de Oro (Mask vs Hair - UWA - 1/13/1991) Yet another classic match in the career of El Hijo del Santo and a very strong contender for my list. The thing that I love about Santo Apuestas matches, is that not only do you get the gritty, bloody violence you associate with the style but you often get a good amount of wrestling to go with it and the usual gorgeous Santo dives. It makes the best Santo Apuestas matches really stand out. Anyway, great match that needs to be considered.

Hot crowd in this one with both guys having plenty of supporters. Lots of blood but still somehow doesn't feel like and all brawl. The first fall was a bit lame but the other two were very good. We need more top rope headbutts into a standing opponent in wrestling
**** Seconded

Man this was great. I forgot how awesome Santo was in this, but he really was awesome. He got his clock cleaned in the primera and sold it like Oro has really surprised him with his aggressiveness, then he gets cut open in the segunda and of course El Hijo del Santo selling blood loss is going to be amazing. That blood-stained comeback ruled and then he fucking annihilated Oro. It's easy to think of Santo as this spectacularly graceful wrestler who has the cleanest signature spots ever, but he's an unbelievable brawler and captures a sense of hatred as well as anyone. They both tried to ram the other into the post in the first fall and made a point of showing how much they desperately did not want to be rammed into it, so when Santo finally manages it the place erupts and it feels like a huge moment. It's simple build but incredibly effective. Both guys bleeding and staggering around throwing punches and getting progressively more desperate makes for a fitting deciding fall. This might make a late run onto my list.
