Takayama/Suzuki deliver as the violent shooter tag team. Yamamoto also gives a motivated young lion performance and pretty much serves as the perfect guy for them to beat on. Nagata also works really well as a hot tag.

So... got turned onto this by NL's writeups. I loved this. Really pretty nice, straight forward stuff, but well done. Suzuki and Takayama bring a ton of personality to this. Probably just outside serious considerations, but still... GREAT (must watch).
Did Suzuki and Takayama team together more? Did they have a name? This has to be - on paper at least - a top 5 meanest tag team ever, right? Regardless... I am pro-THEM

They teamed together quite a bit, mainly in 2004. In fact, they were the IWGP tag champions when Takayama suffered the stroke that put him on the shelf for two years. I don't think they produced any real standout matches during that run, but the 3/28 match against Tenryu and Nakanishi is pretty good.

I knew early to mid 2000s NJPW (and most of Japan) is a bit of a blind spot for me, but how did I miss that they teamed up extensively? So many little blind spots for me still..... so much to discover.

Not something I enjoyed. Takayama is cool but even he couldn't save it for me.
