They brought a really nice blend of US heel/face dynamics and some high impact offense/aerial moves to boot. I have a soft spot for Eddie during his sleezy looking heel period in the late 90's and he was on point here repeatedly complaining about having his hair pulled in the early going. Some nice armdrag takedowns from Jericho to keep things grounded in the early going. They had about 17min to work a well paced match with things having room to breathe and work in holds on the mat while Eddie went to work on Jericho's back with surfboard and backbreaker variations. I wouldn't be a big fan of 90's Jericho and the Lionheart gimmick being pretty bland but he brought the aggression here with big chops, powerbombs and a nasty looking release german suplex. Excellent compact finish with the counter on a superplex followed up with the frog splash. I enjoyed this a ton!

Second.
This isn't absolutely mindblowing or anything, and I seriously doubt I'd end up voting for it, but it's a personal favourite of mine and Eddie is tremendous in it. I think you could replace Jericho here with pretty much any other halfway decent junior of the time and it wouldn't make much difference overall, but he was fine in his role and brought some fire when he needed to. But this is Eddie's offensive showcase. He was about as good as anyone on earth around this point.

A good Chris Jericho performance and then an incredible best in the world level performance from Eddy. Great match.
