Where do we - as a community - stand on nominating matches that we do not have on video? Obviously, there are some matches that are considered important or even influential within the history of wrestling that we don't have footage of. Should those be nominated amongst the greatest matches ever?
Personally, I sort of don't think it jives with my understanding of the project as a whole. I think influence and importance can and should be variables that each voter considers themselves to whatever degree they see fit, but I think ultimately this is project that is focused on in ring quality. In-ring quality can take on myriad forms, but we have to see what happens in the ring. I will defer to the general feelings of the board if people have strong opinions the other way and would like to argue for that.

I think we have to have the footage in order to rank. Reading about wrestling history is cool and I love to do that, but at end of the day wrestling is a visual genre we have to see it to know if it is great.
