Happy 71st birthday to Genichiro Tenryu! Truly one of the GOAT's and the king of all grumpy asskickers.

Someone I really liked back when I was keeping up in Joshi in real time in the early 00s was The Bloody. She primarily worked in 'Jd but did matches for all of the women's promotions in the late 90s-2005. Searching for her individual matches isn't that easy because of her name. If any of the Joshi fans here can point me in the direction of some The Bloody matches, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I started what was allegedly Johnny Valentine vs The Crusher 4/14/61 and before it even starts it looks like its going to be the greatest match ever but Crusher gets DQ'd and sent away before the match can even properly start. "Bad Boy Joe" has come out to replace The Crusher. Motherfucker. Valentine was a genius working the crowd though. I'm pissed I can't watch that 60 year old match hahaha

Kinda random, but someone put this on my radar yesterday. It is a day long symposium about wrestling related research with a panel featuring indie promoters and a presentation from Jazzy Gabart. Registration is free and all are welcome. No clue what the quality of work or conversation will look like. I haven't personally worked with or around this group yet, but it's interdisciplinary and that stuff tends to be way more laid back and fun than most academic conferences/symposiums. I have some weekend plans, but I am probably going to try to stop in for a bit. I thought I would share it on the off chance any of the topics interested anyone here and they wanted to kills some time Sat. www.prowrestlingstudies.org/home-2/wrestleposium-the-online-symposium/wrestleposium-ii-april-3-2021

Thanks Cap, I am going to try for that sessions on 70s-80s promos for sure, we’ll see what else I can make but that one jumped out for me. Thank you!

Did anyone watch Takeover? I only saw a few bits and pieces, but Kyle O'Reilly wrapped a chain around his boot. I'm going to automatically assume this was a tribute to Dynamite Kansai, ha.

For those interested, it appears Necro Butcher is back and much more closely resembles the necro butcher of old. I mean he is still an older man so you aren't getting 2006 necro or anything, but he has bounced back from cancer it seems, put weight back on, and is willing to bleed like crazy at indie shows. I just watched two of his matches from this year. Nothing mind blowing, but he showed up and put work in. He busted himself open pretty good before even getting to the ring in a match in TN in March. He wasn't working with much in that one. The match with Hoodfoot was much better. Even 65%-70% of the Necro Butcher being active in 2022 seems like it has potential.
Now someone book Necro Butcher vs Black Terry

Random Question (that I'm sure has been asked 1000 times): If you could pluck a wrestler in their prime out and plug them into any promotion/time period, what would you do?
Brock Lesnar (either like 2002 or 20017/2018) in UWFi would be dope, especially in like 1994.
Shayna Bazler in early 90s AJW would rule
Eddie Guerrero in modern AEW would be a great fit in my brain.
