If we had more tape of Sangre Chicana in his prime he might run away with my greatest wrestler ever slot. He is so good and so simple in his work. The first time I saw him throw that haymaker comeback left hand I thought, "I just saw the greatest move in wrestling". If you haven't seen his top end stuff, get on it.

I would put Chicana in the top 20 all time even with all the gaps. His best stuff is too good. He feels less like a pro-wrestler and more like a movie star. He wouldn't feel out of place in a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. Chicana is one of the all time great brawlers & sellers ever. But I think everyone should check out his matches with Satanico on 9/24/83 (yeah, the next day) and Ringo Mendoza from 10/28/83 for examples of Chicana in great title matches.
Chicana is my #1 all time dream footage discovery wrestler. If I could pick any guy's career & magically make it all available on tape, Chicana would be my guy. Look at some of the Luchas de Apuestas on his Luchawiki page. vs Fishman 9/23/77 vs El Faraon 11/10/78 vs Gran Cochise 10/19/79 vs Satanico 6/82 vs Satanico 12/10/82 (a draw, both heads were shaved) vs MS-1 12/84 (there was a third!) vs Perro 2/15/87 vs La Fiera 11/87 vs Perro 12/20/87 vs Perro 1/27/89
I would be happy beyond words to get those matches.

Yeah, the Satanico match from 9/83 is fantastic. I would probably agree that he is the ultimate candidate for "DIG UP ALL THIS FOOTAGE NOW PLEASE"
