They certainly get their fair share of love in certain circles of the internet (ours included), but I think they are on the whole criminally underrated. I saw someone describe them as what we all wish the Road Warriors could have been in the ring. That is more or less spot on to me. They were gifted wrestlers and big ol boys at the same time.

I do not wish the Road Warriors wrestled like these guys at all. The Can-Ams were awesome and had way more high end matches than the Road Warriors for sure. But no part of me ever looked at Animal and thought "That guy should be doing limb work, thrust kicks, roll up pinning sequences and selling." The Road Warriors should have no sold, powerslammed people out of their boots and killed them with the doomsday device.
I would say I wish the Steiners wrestled like the Can-Ams. Can-Ams were basically a smaller Steiner Brothers with better structure & team work.

I would have liked to see SOME Of that from the Road Warriors. Maybe I really just want them to be slightly more fluid athletes and able (willing) to sell a bit more....

If I could change anything about peak Road Warriors (like everything pre - WWF run) I'd probably ask them to sell even less and do even more slams & clotheslines. What are people's favorite Can-Am Express matches excluding the famous vs Kobashi/Kikuchi 92 & Footloose 6/5/89?
