The 1998 G1 final against Kazuo Yamazaki doesn't get nearly enough love. I'm honestly kind of flabbergasted that no one but me had it on their ballot. Well how else could people fit the 8th best Misawa vs Kawada tag match on the ballot? In all seriousness, its because Kazuo Yamazaki doesn't get enough love. He was underrated in the 80s & 90s by contemporary hardcore wrestling fans, was appreciated as a great worker for probably 5 years peaking with his 66th overall placement in the smarkschoice GWE poll and then everyone forgot about him so he finished behind Edge on the PWO honorable mention GWE poll.

Micro, did you ever see the 30 minute draw with Chono from the 1991 G1?

Is that the handheld 8/10/1991? If so, I wasn't able to find it. Also I'm not sure if I could handle a 30 minute Chono match.

Its pro shot from 8/9/91. They had another one on 8/11 that was good but not unbelievably great like the one on 8/9.
I'm with you on the idea of 30minute Chono, but 91 G1 Week was the best Chono ever was and I swear the first time I watched it I liked it so much I watched it again the next day. Its of comparable quality to the Final with Muto.

Best Hashimoto match not involving Choshu or Tenryu? I have all these at **** or more. Bold ones are ****1/2+ vs. Regal 4/16/1995 vs. N. Ogawa 10/11/1999 and 4/7/2000
w/ Iizuka vs. Ogawa/Murakami 1/4/2000 vs. Takada 4/29/1996vs. Hase 12/13/1994 vs. Fujinami 6/5/1998 and 10/9/2000 w/Otsuka vs. Misawa/Y. Ogawa 1/13/2001 vs. Liger 2/24/1994 I almost said best Hash match not involving Choshu, Tenryu or Ogawa. I'm with you on the Ogawa matches.

Been thinking about something since I watched the Hashimoto vs Koshinaka draw from 8/94. I often think of Hashimoto as probably the greatest under 15 minutes long match wrestler ever. The Zangiev & Vader matches from the 89 Dome, all of the Ogawa matches, the Takada match, the 94 & 98 Tenryu match are all 15 minutes or less. Actually, except for 94 Tenryu and 4/00 Ogawa those matches are all closer to 10 minutes than 15.
But Hashimoto has had some awesome long matches too. 30 minute draws against Masa Chono 91 and Shiro Koshinaka 94 isn't like going 30 minutes with mid 80s Flair or mid 90s Kobashi. Yet Hashimoto had truly great matches with those guys. 25ish with Muto in the 95 G1. Going 20+ with Hase is closer to the best case scenario than the drag those other situations are, but Hashimoto definitely delivered when he went 20+ with Hase. I feel like that 91 Vader match I watched recently was 20+. Several 25ish minute tag matches where he was the star as well.
So I guess I was wondering what are people's favorite long 20+ minute Hashimoto matches?

Just 3 seconds shy of 20 minutes, but the 2004 match with Kawada.

Gave some of his highly regarded matches that didn't resonate with me entirely a re-watch and all I can say is I have seen the light. He really is fantastic at making matches under 15 minutes feel absolutely epic, between his high intensity, his awesome selling, and brilliant pacing. Where I had none of his matches on my last list, he now has about 5 or 6 that have a strong chance of making my list next year.

I decided to give Hashimoto another chance after the G1 match with Tenryu blew me away, so I re-watched the Vader, Yamazaki G1 final, Takada, and Kawada matches, all of which I thought were great but I didn't see the hype for. Now the Tenryu, Takada, and Yamazaki matches are all definitely going to make my list with the Kawada and Vader matches being strong contenders. The Tenryu match is my favourite match of his, just so brilliantly worked.
