He finished 21st during GWE which on the one hand feels high but on the other feels about right. People used to say he didn't have a lot of classics, but I think he had his fair share of truly excellent matches especially given the booking limitations he faced in his career. vs Dave Boy from Havoc vs Arn SuperBrawl vs Flair Marquis of Queensbury vs Larry Zbyszko x3 vs Hashimoto vs Finlay vs Sting GAB Armageddon 06 Tag Ladder match vs Christian vs Hero vs Ambrose vs Cesaro
The Uncensored match with Finlay is their best match, but they had several awesome TV matches. I haven't watched any of the Benoit matches in years but obviously those are very highly regarded. I really want to revisit his WCW run in detail at some point. There's so much fun looking stuff. I remember he worked well with Psychosis specifically. Probably Malenko as well. Pre Nitro stuff looks cool too. WWE TV had a bunch of matches too with Benoit, Punk, Christian, etc.
Of course the acting, character work, facial expressions and unique style that set Regal apart.

The "vile and venom" promo is one of my all-time favorites.

The Regal v Arn match is my favorite Regal match I think. He has a lot of good ones, but that is the one that comes closest to "top-shelf" as far as I am concerned.
Regal is - to me - the epitome of a great all around, consistent performer. I know he had down periods, but even in those he was often better than most pros on whatever roster he was on. He "got" wrestling on sort of all levels. He was a performer, character, and wrestler. He entertained, made people look good, and protected the threshold of suspension of disbelief. He is a guy you just feel like you could put against anyone in any era and it would be awesome. I could just as easily imagine him in a great match with Nick Gage as I could Billy Catanzarro. There aren't a lot of wrestlers I can genuinely say that about.

Sometimes I think Pro-Wrestling didn't deserve someone as great as William Regal and his real destiny was to do movies with Will Ferrell & John C Reilly.

Is there a Blue Bloods match or particular tag match people would recommend?

I just watched the Hashimoto and it's easily the greatest Regal match I've ever seen.

I kinda forgot about the Hash match. I think I still have the Arn match rated a bit higher, but the Hashimoto match is a more traditionally, universally "great" match.

If I were to pick one favorite Regal match, it would be the one with Sting at the Bash. But I find the FCW/NXT era to be the most consistently enjoyable period of his career because he was a much smarter worker at that point.
