Fine. If nobody else will do it, I'll do it. Jerks.
I love The Nasty Boys. Probably my all time guilty pleasure act in wrestling. Their gimmick is so simple and stupid but it still works. I also think they're underrated when it comes to ring work. During a discussion about them for GWE, I watched a random sampling of 5 of their matches from youtube against 5 random teams and they were all well worked, enjoyable traditional tag matches. I'm not going to argue they're these great technical wrestlers who had a giant well of tolls to draw from. They were limited wrestlers who understood tag psychology & worked within their limitations. They had some positives they could bring to the table: mainly their character work, understanding of tag psychology, willingness to bump like maniacs, and work stiff/get stiffed with the right people. Seriously, go watch a random Nasty Boys match. Its probably pretty fun.
Their peak level stuff is legit great. Specifically Wargames 94 and the two brawls with Cactus & X from 1994. They also had one of the best Steiner Brothers matches ever from Havoc 90. I've also always really liked the match with the Hart Foundation from WrestleMania VII. It isn't as good as their best stuff and isn't even the best tag match on that show. But I've always really liked it and thought it was a top tier Hart Foundation match. I would actually love to watch a comprehensive Nasty Boys comp because it wouldn't surprise me if they had some fun hidden gems sprinkled throughout their early-mid 90s career.
