Sasha Banks vs Bayley (NXT Takeover Brooklyn - 8/22/15) Utterly spectacular match that deserves strong consideration. One of the best moments in recent wrestling history as these two had 15,000 people going insane cheering for them. Sasha is out of this world as the American Mayumi Ozaki. The spot where she stomps Bayley's hand into oblivion as she's desperately going for the ropes is one of my favorite spots.

Second
Off the top of my head, this is the best women's match on US soil I can think of. This is excellent stuff, so well built and so well executed. Death wish Sasha was terrifying to watch, but a ton of fun and Bayley was a pure white-hot babyface at this time. This is great and has a shot at my list.

Nominated.
This match is just special and very few matches have that feel to it. The crowd was amazing from the entrances to the finish. The story they tell is perfect. I loved all the hand work by Sasha and Bayley’s selling of it. They way that comes back towards the end was tremendous as well. This also had some insane moves as well, including the Super Reverse Hurrancanara. This match was really an instant classic and clearly the best match of 2015.

I'd counter this clearly being the best match of 2015 by saying this is probably my 3rd favorite Sasha match of 2015 lmao. Which is naturally no knock since I think 2015 Sasha is a transcendent year. My investment in this match may be slightly hampered by me traveling to Ghana when most of the build and the match happened live. Still a great match and a fantastic scenario of knowing Bayley was gonna win but the result still feeling immensely satisfying.

One of the few feel good moments the WWE has produced in the last decade. This probably was my match of the year for 2015. Sasha doing the dive over the ref to the outside got a legit "holy shit" out of me while we were watching it. Bayley hitting the reverse frankensteiner is still awesome to watch. This tells an absolutely incredible story about a wrestler finally finding that next gear and climbing to the top of the mountain. Wrestling gets this moment wrong so many times that is's refreshing to have a good example of when they did it right.

Sasha's stamp is one of my favourite moments in wrestling ever. According to Bayley on Steve Austin's podcast that and most of Sasha's evil deeds were adlibbed or at least she didn't know they were coming, so obviously this wasn't deliberate, but I think that spot resonated so much because it was like a metaphor for Bayley's last year in NXT. She's so close to getting to the rope/title only to have it cruelly stamped out.
Her last title match was the fourway at Takeover: Rival where she finally had her long-time rival Charlotte Flair beaten, only to get thrown out the ring by Sasha who stole the win. Charlotte turned on Bayley in 2013 to join Sasha + Summer's BFFs stable. Becky Lynch turned on Bayley in 2014 to become Team BAE with Sasha. Even if it was mostly indirect Sasha has been the source of Bayley's woes for two years in the build to this match. It's that and the clash of personalities of the noble and principled vs. the disingenuous and opportunistic that make this such a special match.

Seventh yes from me. It's the NXT match I've watched more than any other, coming back to a match helps it's cause. I think to Banks hand work on Bayley, Banks stomping on Bayley's hand as she's reaching the rope in the Bank Statement and the top rope reverse rana'. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Respect and Brooklyn are great wrestling matches.

A rare thing of beauty in the WWE universe. A perfect combination of great story line meeting breath taking match in front of an emotionally invested crowd. I haven't cried as much since Elizabeth saved Randy. The moment when the women's revolution really began in WWE. An incredibly important match.

I got the WWE Network 3 or 4 years ago to watch older stuff, having not seen much wrestling for years, and this Takeover was the first card I watched which was ‘current’ at the time - this match totally blew me away. Video package did a great job of setting Bayley up as a plucky underdog and Sasha as a heel I could really hate, and the match itself told that story beautifully. Loved the work on Bayley’s hand, Bayley’s comeback, and the way the fans were red hot. Outstanding.

I think this ends up being a "close, but no cigar" match for me. Probably more of a top 120 or so contender. One of those matches which was tremendous seeing live the first time and while still great, has some diminishing returns. It's a great narrative which the opening package really drives home, but I feel like it's largely a match in two acts. The first act has some decent character work but largely just feels like a standard TV match. Once Sasha starts working on Bayley's hand we're definitely off to the races, but I still can't get over how the first act just kinda stays in first gear. Escalation is something I absolutely love in a match but I just didn't feel it in this one.
Still, no doubt the greatest U.S. women's match ever and one of the best NXT or WWE matches ever.

I'm not as high on this as the first time I saw it, but I still think it is great. As bossrock says, the match only really takes off imo when Sasha goes after Bayley's hand. Not sure whether I prefer this or the Respect match. What a feud.
