Top Matches - Kobashi or Misawa Versatility - Kobashi or Kawada Consistency - Kobashi or Kawada Charisma/It Factor - Kobashi Elevating Others - Misawa or Kobashi Offense - Kobashi Selling - Kobashi Rewatch Value - Kobashi or Misawa Elliott's Bonus Question - Kobashi
For consistency and versatility, Kobashi and Kawada have the most varied catalog of good matches with different opponents. Misawa being the ace kind of limited who he faced in singles matches and as mentioned above, he often wasn't the star of tags or multi-mans.
For selling I was tempted to add Kawada but he developed an annoying tendency to drop leg selling in the 2000's. Kobashi was more consistent throughout his career.
Kobashi, Kawada, Misawa, Bryan, Tenryu, and Hansen have always been the six wrestlers I've been comfortable with calling the GOAT, but the "gun to my head" answer has always been Kobashi.

People rarely watch the bad matches of 90s AJPW, but to look at consistency watch Hansen vs. Misawa in October 1993. Never seen any of the other pillars in a Budokan main event put on such a stinker.

That is totally fair. I take it back. I'm giving consistency to Kobashi.

Misawa broke his sternum early on in the 10/93 Hansen match, so it's not quite fair to hold that against him.

I don't think I actually knew that.

I still think, at his best, Misawa is the best seller of the lot. He's obviously way more understated than Kobashi and I suppose even Kawada, but there's something about him refusing to accept defeat in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds that can be just mesmerising. The '96 Tag League is one of the best selling performances I've ever seen, especially in that last 15 minutes when it's him all on his own against Kawada and Taue.
In the "selling a limb/body part" sense that might be Kobashi, I suppose.

Yeah I think he could Kobashi a run for his money in terms of selling.

I feel like my order would be Kobashi and then the other four grouped together depending on the setting and my mood.
