Figured this could be a fun thread.
Cap mentioned it took him forever to make the Dusty Rhodes - dusty roads connection. I am in the same boat. I think I made that connection in like 2015 after knowing about Dusty for basically my entire life.
I never realized Goldust's look was designed to emulate an oscar until someone mentioned it in a PWO yearbooks thread.
What are some others?

When I first saw Dustin Rhodes in TNA, I had no idea he was Goldust until like a year later when I looked him up online.

I always thought Shuji Ishikawa was Yuki Ishikawa's son until last year when a friend make the fucking fun out of me when I said something like "yeah Yuki would be proud" or something like that.
Also, a friend thought Chihiro and Daichi Hashimoto were brothers.

Similar to "dusty roads" as mentioned earlier...I seriously only just got why Terry Funk being from the "Double Cross Ranch" is awesome.
I'm an idiot.

I can even top that Double Cross ranch idiocy.
When I was like 7-10 years old, that age range. I didn't understand that WCW & WWF were different companies. I thought it was just Pro Wrestling like the AFC/NFC together make the NFL or AL/NL is the MLB. That there was so much movement over the years didn't help. I'd rent WrestleMania 3 at blockbuster and Savage, Hogan, Heenan, Steamboat, Ventura would be there and then watch WCW Saturday Night and see all the same guys.
I could never figure out why nobody wanted Sting on their Survivor Series team.

I remember not fully grasping the concept of different wrestling promotions either with the exception of the NWO. I thought that was a truly separate entity that just happened to be against WCW, not a stable.
