I figured instead of starting a million different threads I'd just start one thread for all things overrated and we can spin things off as needed. Think of this as a "comments that don't warrant a thread" with a focus on overrated stuff.
Wrestlers, teams, matches, promotions, feuds, moves, announcers, interviews, angles, years, ppvs/shows, whatever.

Tully Blanchard was too much of a coward heel for my tastes. I wish he showed more offense in his matches.

Jeff Hardy is my default overrated pick. He never connected with me. I always thought Matt was the better team member.

Matt was definitely the better wrestler but I get why Jeff was as big as he was. That being said, I definitely think there was potential in a top face run for Matt circa his return in 2005.

I've been thinking for a little while now that Cena is almost so underrated he's become overrated. Like the "you can't wrestle" stuff was always ridiculous, but I almost feel the pendulum has sort of swung too far in the other direction with how much he's been defended as a wrestler. I agree with Nintendologic's comment about him being a great "in the moment" wrestler with not all matches holding up as well on re-watches. I was a bit meh on his 2015 U.S. title run to begin with but the MITB match with Owens isn't nearly as good as I remembered. Granted, I didn't watch nearly as much wrestling as I have now and my tastes have obviously changed, but it's basically a 5 minute feeling out process that immediately switches to an indie-riffic bombfest with no rhyme or reason. And while the A.J. matches still hold up for the most part, the Summerslam and Royal Rumble matches have taken a hit upon re-watch.
His top-tier stuff (Umaga, Bryan) remain absolute classics and will most likely still make my ballot. His 2007 still has great carry jobs against guys like Lashley and Khali. But a lot of his matches beyond that are either underwhelming or downright bad. Granted he didn't always have the best to work with, but his desire to prove his naysayers wrong by trying to do moves he really had no business doing makes me question his overall abilities as a worker. He'd still make my top 100 list because he has great stuff to his name and his quality of opponents didn't always give him a lot to work with, but I seriously doubt he'd make my top 50.

Koji Kanemoto is someone I've never found to be particularly interesting at all. Even when I loved juniors wrestling he never would have been one of my 20 favorite juniors.
