Cool thread. I need to look really closely at some of the 80s sets because I'm sure I could come up with some good choices. September 97 is a good choice. You didn't even mention the other great matches from WWE's One Night Only, the best Tanaka/Awesome match ever, the famous Cactus vs HHH RAW match, a pair of really good WCW Cruiserweight matches from Fall Brawl, the FMW/AJPW tag, Beulah vs Fonzie, Taker vs HBK was a fun brawl. Really great month.
Some of the one's I thought of quickly:
April 1993: DreamSlam I, DreamSlam II, Champions Carnival, WAR vs NJ feud going strong, SMW Bluegrass Brawl, TripleMania 1, Cactus vs Vader feud, RINGS Show, UWFi Show, individual matches like Devil Masami vs Bull Nakano, Sabu vs Waltman, Toyota & Hotta vs Kong & Kyoko, Windham vs Regal, Bigelow vs Bret/Owen. Like what the actual fuck. In terms of top end stuff and just sheer depth of quality how the fuck does this get beat ever? WrestleMania sucked in 1993, yet this is still probably the best month ever.
Micro mentioned March 1994 but man April 1994 is RIGHT THERE:
AJPW Carnival, Super J-Cup, Spring Stampede, SMW Bluegrass Brawl 94, Sasuke vs Shinzaki, Lawler vs Dream Machine, Sabu vs Terry Funk, Vader vs Foley.

August 2017 is probably my most recent pick due to the G1. A fantastic tournament with the final 3 matches really launching it into the "Greatest Tournament Ever" conversation.
I co-sign on April 1995. The main event of the GAEA debut is tremendous.

August 1996 has always been a favorite. Ikeda vs Ishikawa, Han vs Kohsaka, Ozaki vs Kansai, Kong vs Kyoko, Liger's M-Pro 6 man, GAEA 8 woman tag, Owen vs Shawn, Tenryu vs Sano, Hog Wild, SummerSlam, Shawn vs Goldust Ladder match, the NWO angle is running hot with Hogan having just turned. Just a loaded month.
