There a a million different gimmick matches: Cage, Hell in a Cell, Last Man Standing, Texas Death Match, Lumberjack, Falls Count Anywhere, War Games, I Quit, Bull Rope, Chain, Strap, Wager, Barbed Wire, Fire, good ol' fashioned No DQ, etc etc etc. Which types are your favorites? Which types are your least favorites? Are there any you don't like in general but can think of something specific you do like?
And of course what are your specific favorite gimmick matches?

Casket matches generally suck, but Lucha Underground's take on it with Grave Consequences might be my favorite gimmick match ever. Instead of two dudes trying to slowly roll each other into a casket every five minutes, it's a violent no DQ match where someone just happens to end up in a casket.
When I was a kid, ladder matches were my favorite gimmick due to the sheer amount of crazy spots. I remember being absolutely blown away by the Mania 16 triangle ladder Mania 17 TLC matches. For the longest time those were my favorite matches. And while I'm not quite as fond of the gimmick as I used to be, I still generally enjoy them as they're usually fun spotfests.
Hell in a Cell was another gimmick I really enjoyed even if I would probably only consider two of them as truly "great" (Taker-Shawn and Brock-Taker). When I was younger it was the definitive feud-ender and blood and violence was a guarantee (probably how the cage match used to be). Now, it's just another ppv gimmick that has lost almost all meaning. That being said, I love the Sasha-Charlotte and Sasha-Becky matches. Those felt like the visceral and violent matches I remember.
I mentioned cage matches as being the original feud-ender and since I've only been a wrestling fan since 2002, I never really had that appreciation for them that a lot of older fans had (Triple X vs. AMW aside). But projects like these and just revisiting older matches makes me realize just how many awesome cage matches there were. And as much as I hate WWE's take on the escape rule, stuff like Colon-Hansen, Rage in a Cage, and Bull-Aja make me realize that it CAN be done well.
