As is the case with all art (or whatever you want to call wrestling) it is a balance between the subjective and the intersubjective. There is nothing objective about standards and judgements in wrestling. That is just just an illusion created by strong intersubjectivity. For example, Misawa looks like he is objectively better than Cena because here the score is 8-0 and in the majority of rankings done my highly invested fans Misawa is going to rank better than Cena. But that isn't objective. Its intersubjecitive. It is in the discourse of those invested that intersubjective standards start to emerge and then evolve over time. No one should feel inherently beholden to them, of course. If someone doesn't like Misawa or 90s AJPW in general. That is cool. There are heathens out there that don't like pizza. However, I don't think all opinions or beliefs are created equally to be honest, but I am open to hearing most. If nothing else I find these sort of cool thought experiments, the kind that can inform the ebbs and flows of opinions over time.

With Cena becoming the biggest wrestler in the world and continuing to wear baggy jean shorts through the 2010s and Misawa constantly pulling his pants up, are these the definitive pants wrestlers? I guess Rikishi since his entire gimmick was based on his pants.
