Two men, 13 letters, one awful question.

Top Matches - Volk. I thought about going with a draw here. And if I excluded the 3 Tamura matches, I might even go Park. But the Tamura matches are Top 20 all time matches for me so its hard to give those up. Peak La Park is really fucking awesome, but I'm giving the nod to Volk. Versatility - La Parka. Volk could do anything within shootstyle, but it is the most narrow style in wrestling. Parka is of course one of the all time brawlers, but he's also a surprisingly good mat worker, and shockingly great flyer. Of course he excels in enormous bloody brawls, but dude is one of the best comedy wrestlers of his generation too. I have no doubt if NJPW threw a bunch of money at Volk to work with Hashimoto, they would've had awesome matches, but even that wouldn't have been enough to put him over Park.
Consistency - Volk. Kind of unfair since Volk worked less than 75 matches in his career and was always in a featured spot for a well paying promotion. But Volk didn't ever have a bad match. That said, Parka was never really known for his consistency.
Charisma/"It" Factor" - La Parka would be my pick. Volk has a really cool charisma that truly stands out in wrestling. Especially for his time, place, style and skill level. But Parka is one of the most charismatic guys of the last 25 years.
Promos - I dunno.
Elevating Others - Volk. Due to his charisma, Parka is kind of in that Tenryu, Perro, Rock boat where his matches feel more important due to his presence. But Volk really could have carried a cadaver to a good watchable match.
Offense - Volk. He's one of the most spectacular offensive wrestlers ever. Considering he never did a single rope running spot or dive or whatever, he might be THE most spectacular wrestler ever. I like Park offensively don't get me wrong. His strikes (punches, stomps, headbutts), dives and bombs are all really great. But Volk could have spot fests with just mat work and submissions.
Selling - Park. Not really something I think of when I think of these guys. I don't really have any complaints on either of them as far as selling. I gave Park the edge because he would lose 1/3 of his blood for our pleasure.
Rewatch Valley - Park. Because there are more than 75 matches.
Bonus Elliott's Question (Brody vs Nigel or best work associated with a crappy wrestler) - Volk. If Park really wanted to, he could absolutely carry a bunch of mediocre/crappy workers to a classic match (the 10/02 Tiujana trios). But Volk was saddled with truly terrible unproven opponents or young unproven opponents and could get entertaining-great matches out of everyone.
Volk - 5 Park - 4 Draw
Closer than I thought to be honest. I consider Volk to be a top 10 all time sort of wrestler. Park is more a top 50-75 kinda guy.

My results will likely look very similar to Elliott’s on this one. Top MatchesBoth have some high highs, but this one has to go to Han. Park is going to sneak onto my top 100 list this year I think, but Han already has two and has a few just outside the list. Han’s highest highs are tough to beat. Winner – Han VersatilityThis one has to be Park by default. Han operated in a relatively niche corner of the wrestling world and is a master of that corner. Park on the other hand has demonstrated a number of skills over the years. He did comedy, blood baths, flying, and was probably underrated as far as mat work goes. Winner – Park ConsistencyI gotta go with Han on this one as well. Han is more or less incapable of a bad match. Park is definitely capable of it. He can also very much phone it in these days, depending on where he is and who he is against. Part of this is unfair because Han didn’t have nearly as many matches, but it is what it is. Winner – Han Charisma/”It” FactorIts gotta be Park, right? Park is super charismatic. I agree with Elliott that Han isn’t without his charisma. It fit what he was doing. But this isn’t close. Winner – Park
PromosI am actually going to vote on this one, even though it is not really promos proper, I am going to give this to Park for adding lots of character and intrigue with things outside of the wrestling. Really I am giving him this mostly for lighting shirts on fire in the ring before matches (and other crazy person behavior). I have also seen him cut promos on twitter and even though I don’t understand them he can often get stuff across. Winner – Park Elevating OthersYeah, this one has to go to Han. I think Park has gotten the best out of some talented wrestlers, but I am not sure he brought guys up to his level in the same way Han was able to. Winner – Han OffenseThis one is pretty close for me. Park, again, is probably a bit underrated in this. He is pretty versatile and he evolved his offense over time in a way that allowed him to stay relevant for a long time. Han on the other hand is truly a joy to watch. He is a master of his craft and legitimately technical. I am going to give the edge to Han by just a bit. Here. Winner – Han Selling This one is probably got to go to Park. In his younger days he could bounce around like crazy and in his older days he would just bleed buckets. Han is good at selling, but stands out just a touch more. Winner – Park Rewatch Value I was ready to give this to Park and then I started really thinking about it. Park has way more matches and more different types of matches. His career is more varied. Han on the other hand was the master of a style I can rewatch endlessly. If it where who’s matches would I rather have on an island its gotta be Park. If it were who am I more likely to just find a random match on youtube of… its gotta be Han. I guess I gotta go Park because lucha brawls are just the best things to rewatch. Winner – Park Elliott’s Bonus Question (Brody/Nigel)When you aren’t part of anything bad you surely carried some garbage to greatness. Winner - Han
Final Score Park - 5
Han - 4.5
More or less identical to Elliott on how the categories went, but differences in scoring that last question and my willingness to give the promos to Park make the difference. This one feels like I could go back and forth between the two. I imagine if I did a GWE they would land quite close to one another (within 10 or so).

Top Matches
The Han/Tamura trilogy made the top end of my ballot and I could have added any number of matches after that. I really like Park's brawls with Wagner jr and El Mesias, plus his match with Fatu last year was one of my favourite matches of 2019. The trios match with Vampiro is great too. I need to check out his match with Eddie Kingston too. Volk takes this
WINNER: Han
Versatility
Han did one thing excellently, Park can brawl, bump, bleed to perfection. Park equalizes.
WINNER: Park
Consistency
Is there a bad Volk Han match? If there is, I haven't seen it. Easy decision
WINNER: Han
Charisma/It Factor
Han has an aura, but he's up against a dancing skeleton who will happily lose pints of blood for our viewing pleasure. Park wins.
WINNER: Park
Promos
I don't speak Spanish but Park is captivating on the mic
WINNER: Park
Elevating Others
Han was a legit world-class grappler often working with guys not on his level and make them look like they could hang. Simple choice
WINNER: Han
Offence
The greatest mat wrestler of all time takes this, though Park is one of the best modern lucha brawlers
WINNER: Han
Selling
See "a dancing skeleton who will happily lose pints of blood for our viewing pleasure" comment from earlier
WINNER: Park
Rewatch Value
As much as I love Han, I would rather watch Park on a more regular basis
WINNER: Park
Elliot's Bonus Question (Brody/Nigel)
Han was a master craftsman with some willing apprentices
WINNER: Han
Final Score: 5-5 (5-4 Han if you discount promos)
