Han matches are usually very aesthetically pleasing but a lot of stuff here is unusually grueling and rough (in a good way). Kohsaka escaping some of Han's most deadly holds relatively comfortably really sets the tone for the narrative. Super dramatic finishing stretch as Han is pushed to the limit.

This was their third meeting of the year after Kohsaka’s skill had placed Han in perilous situations twice, leading to two desperation fueled finishes. Kohsaka had only become more dangerous and perhaps Han realized this as he displayed an unusual level of urgency. Kohsaka had proven himself to be a mat wizard during their previous encounters, and this time even grappled his way out of several deadly Han holds, resorting to rope breaks only when it was absolutely necessary. His mat game allowed him to make some major in-roads during stand-up fighting. Han’s defeat seemed certain, as Kohsaka grabbed a final, definitive submission, until he pulled a rabbit out of the hat counter to lock in a fatal submission and secure a series clean sweep.

The start of this match get more gritty than others, and the match was structured to build drama. Han’s selling of a kick to the ribs never gets old. The finishes two all three of these matches were fantastic, it was hard not to feel a little heartbroken for Kohsaka here.

Super match as usual. The worst of their 96 trilogy & it's still an awesome match.
