Lets just move the conversation to a vote.
Which would you be more interested in doing?

I'm not gonna send a ballot this year either, because It's not ready *yet* but a top 100 should be better. If the project goes only for a top 50, it would be a kinda... Boring list. Like, obviously the AJPW classics, Flair/Steamboat series, classic WWE top tier stuff are all amazing, but last year's top 100, while still "normie" at the end, showed some other interesting tendencies I wanna see more of: shoot style, some lucha libre, joshi greatest hits... I wanna see if all those other styles, and more (Hashimoto didn't have a single match on the top 100. Hash!) get more love each year, and I'm afraid a top 50 won't show that (yet). Damn, this year a lot of old french wrestling released, maybe we'll see something of that too.
I know you can't be diverse just for the sake of it when doing a top X best matches, you just love what you love and your favourite style will always be the most represented one on your list, but, when you have enough people with different tastes and preferences, I wanna see more wrestling tendencies face to face, and not just "90s AJPW the best, then Flair best matches, then we'll see...", and, as I said, a top 50 wouldn't be enough.

I changed my mind, Top 100 is preferable.

I suppose I should chime in even though there's no real need given that top 100 is running away with this poll. I know I'm the one who suggested a top 50 ballot, but I have no strong preference either way. I think the only real differences between a list drawn from top 50 ballots and one drawn from top 100 ballots would be at the margins. Looking at last year's results, every match in the top 100 was in at least one voter's top 50 and all but eight were in at least one voter's top 25. My concern was people putting in substantially more work for negligible reward. But if people find putting together a top 100 ballot (and looking at other people's ballots) rewarding in ways besides meaningfully impacting the final results, that's fine by me.

The thing is to realistically make a good top 50, you need to basically rank at least 70-80 matches anyway (because you have to make some type of spread sheet or list to sort out what makes the cut and doesn't, which defacto ranks over 50). We may as well make it a clean 100.
If anything the poll should ask should we do a top 100 or a top 150 (for shits and giggles, basically).
