Johnny Saint & Steve Best vs. Jeff Kaye & Ian Gilmour (World of Sport ??1972, aired 12/2/1972)
Great tag which even with the French tags being unearthed is probably a Top 5 Euro tag I've seen . Fast pace with one intricate exchange after another. Kaye & Gilmour are great here, a pair of tubby white guys with wavy haircuts cartwheeling all over the ring and doing all this improbable stuff. Saint keeps the wink winks to a minimum, and there is some great tag psychology with Kaye and Gilmour being sly fuckers. The main thing that stands out about this is Steve Best getting injured when he eats a big splash to his back in an extremely simple but great spot. His injured performance was pretty great as he immediately went on the defense and the emphasis switched to Johnny Saint having to work twice as hard. There's a really great missed dropkick and later hit dropkick, an assload of fantastic nearfalls for a 1972 tag etc.

Second.
Great tag bout that sees Saint having to fight for his team as his partner is injured with one fall down. The chain wrestling here was great, with all four men finding intricate ways to escape a hold. ★★★★½

Fantastic tag. I haven't watched any Johnny Saint in a couple of years so it was nice to be reminded of his brilliance. Great story, great wrestling.
