How has this match not been nominated. Two interpromotional greats inside of the tokyo dome beating the shit out of each other. 2005 Match of the Year too, this should be considered

Second. One of my favorite match ever, such a memorable spectacle. I loved the intensity, which was heightened by the incredibly lively crowd of 62000 at the Tokyo Dome. This match is especially known for its chop battle but everything else was fantastic too, the grand entrances, the pace, the impactful offensive from both wrestlers, the details, the lenght, ... I could go on and on with praise.
Now, I see how some people may be turned off by this, you may prefer more technical matches or you may not get into the atmosphere, but to me, this was an epic clash of titans and I loved every second of it.

This is NOAH's Hogan v Warrior, which I mean as a compliment. It's a match with a pleasing symmetry running through it, exchanging backdrops, dives, lariats and preposterous number of chops. The two top guys in Japan circa 2005 taking each other's best shots to a hyper crowd. As a big stage spectacle this is hard to beat.

I was surprised at this match's absence from the nominations of 2005.
This is one of the most arduous matches I've ever seen. From the simple yet effective storytelling, to the atmosphere, to the big moments and spots, this match has everything that makes it feel like a fight to the death between two legendary gladiators. And THAT sequence, where Kobashi and Sasaki exchange nearly 200 CHOPS between one another, is one of the craziest things I've ever seen in wrestling.
It's hard to summarize everything about this match in even a paragraph, but it is a must-see spectacle for any wrestling fan. It's easily accessible to any wrestling fan as well, as not a lot of context is needed when first watching this match. Both the crowd and the in-ring action will be enough to keep you invested from beginning to end.

I don't care if it has been emulated by much lesser wrestlers to mediocre-to-bad results, this match fucking ROCKS. Definitely one of the best ever. Like, #1 contender. Kobashi's aura here, man. Maybe the more godly a wrestler has ever looked.
