Akira Hokuto & Devil Masami vs Meiko Satomura & Chikayo Nagashima (GAEA - 7/22/00)
Hot dang I loved this match. In a match with Akira Hokuto, Devil Masami & Meiko Satomura, it is Chikayo Nagashima who leaves the biggest impression in this match. She was one of the most unique and creative wrestlers on the planet during this time period. Sometimes she'd be off and look terrible with bad timing and a lot of blown spots. Based on my recollection (and I hope was the reality as I go back and watch a lot of this stuff), she would more often be on and you'd get a match like this with tons of incredible moves and counters with just impeccable timing.
This is a classic storyline. Veteran Bruisers vs Spunky Up & Comers. Satomura & Nagashima use their speed & wrestling ability in the ring when they're leading the match. Hokuto & Masami respond by using their size and aggression. Great character work from everyone. And the work is top notch. GAEA was not afraid to just have a kick ass 15 minute match, realizing not everything needed to be 30+ minutes. I wouldn't really want 30 minutes of this. But as a balls to the wall sprint this is about as good as it gets.
Hokuto hits Satomura with quite possibly the hardest slap Hokuto has ever thrown (imagine that).

This match has a lot going for it. The finish stretch here is really something, and then a memorable spot for the finish and a kick ass postmatch. Fantastic.

Man this was fucking awesome as well, I can't get enough of these GAEA sprint tag and multitag matches, they're just so dynamic, intense and specially creative. And yeah, everyone was outstanding here, but... Devil Masami, man. What a living legend.
