Mayumi Ozaki vs Dynamite Kansai (Street Fight - JWP - 3/17/1995)
Another favorite that I'll consider but I think deserves consideration on merit. These two have great chemistry and I'm always a fan of a bigger vs smaller wrestler dynamic. However, Ozaki is such an overwhelming character and capable of such violence that they're able to work a deeper story than just big vs small. They brawl all over the building and just destroy each other with a chain including Kansai wrapping it around her boot and kicking Ozaki in the head. This is incredible.

Only thing I'm not keen on in this match is the flash finish. But I'm not that familiar with their entire feud other than it went on almost forever so maybe that was fine in context. Incredibly hardcore match. Full of hatred and Ozaki comes across as totally sadistic and evil. She gets cheered a bit early on but once she's doing shit like biting Kansai in the head till she draws blood and then spits the blood over the referee... oh man.

Amazing character work here, from both wrestlers. Oz is one of the great "actors" in pro wrestling and this match is a showcase for that. Super intense violence. The head kick with chain is one of the more memorable moments in pro wrestling history.

1995-03-17 Mayumi Ozaki vs. Dynamite Kansai (JPW Jazz & Soul @ Hakata Star Lanes in Fukuoka, Japan) This was a very violent brawl. Ozaki used the chain a lot. Dynamite Kansai juiced and it was a big blade job. The match is one of the most memorable joshi puroresu brawls and I’m considering it for my top 100 GME list.

So I finally watched this for the first time last night and I am trying not to just overreact based on recency (I'm hopefully going to get a decent amount of rewatch in before submitting so that should help balance), but this is going to do well for me. This has a legit feeling of chaos and uncontroled violence. That is hard to get in wrestling. I am just going to list the moments that stood out to me and/or made me actively mark out.
Dynamite just drops Oz off her shoulders backwards over the ropes onto the apron and to the outside. Dynamite tries to tear Oz in half with the ring rope she took into the crowd. Oz kicks Dynamite down stairs. Oz wraps the chain around Dynamite's neck and ties her to the post then hits her with a chair and a few stiff drop kicks to the face. Dynamite wraps her foot with the chain and blasts oz Oz drags Dynamite up by the chain attached to a collar she put on her for repeated bloody DDTs (my personal favorite) Oz is biting dynamite and spitting at the ref when she tries to stop it.
This match is unreal in terms of the brutality. It did some things that can feel really contrived and it didn't feel so contrived. The brawl all the way outside the building can often feel cheesy. They were still going at it hard. As for the flash finish. I was a little shocked, but I kind of liked it actually. I am not sure what they could have done to continue to escalate things. I guess maybe Dynamite hitting that finisher, but Oz had been so good at avoiding it and that was her trump card.
This is a classic to me. Really good stuff that is 100% on my list.

This is an exceptional match. Ozaki came off as a total psycho, while Kansai comes off as a complete and utter badass, taking all of the vicious stuff from Ozaki such as chains and chairs to the head, and Ozaki biting her wound and dishing out her own punishment with stiff kicks and some ridiculously high-angle backdrop driver. Not a fan of the flash finish if I'm honest, but that's the only downside to this otherwise wild spectacle.

I am a fan of Kensai from what I have seen so far. I haven’t seen much of Ozaki but she certainly has charisma. This is not necessarily my style but it gets points for originality, featuring quite a few spots that I haven’t seen before.

This match made my list last time and I wasn’t sure if it would stick around. I guess I am still not sure but it held up really well. They do sick and twisted shit as detailed above and the hatred really rose to another level.
