IWGP Tag Team Title League Final Match
I this this match gets some unfair criticism today. It's not a complete epic like some of the matches we got in AJPW or NOAH, but I think it still holds up extremely well. Akira Maeda and Nobuhiko Takada of course wrestle like you would expect as the main representives of the UWF vision. Keiji Mutoh and Shiro Koshinaka on the other hand, represent the rising new generation of NJPW stars from the junior heavyweight division, and they wrestle like they have something to prove as well. This match had wall-to-wall action and some nice exchanges in particular between Akira Maeda and Shiro Koshinaka. The pacing was excellent, and when you have four guys with excellent ring awareness and command involved in a tag match, the result is a solid match structure with a sense of urgency throughout. I think you get the whole package here, and the finishing stretch with a boiling hot crowd is the cherry on top. I still feel this is one of my favorite tag matches of all time, especially from NJPW. *****

Second.
All four men played their parts to perfections in this action-packed tag. The UWF invaders laid some brutal shots into the young NJPW upstarts. Koshinaka gets in a number of incredible hope spots here, including one where he changes the tide of the match by evading a potential match-ending wheel kick into the corner by Maeda. I know Mutoh gets a lot of stick for being lazy and dull these days, but in his prime, he was a fired-up babyface with one of the best moonsaults in the business. Although there are a few people in the crowd cheering on Maeda, by the time they reach the molten-hot finishing stretch, everyone in the building is rooting for the NJPW lads. Every match I've seen so far in the NJPW vs UWF storyline has been brilliant, and this was no different. Everyone here was impressive, but I thought this was a career-best performance from Koshinaka. ★★★★½

Weird match where I liked many of the individual parts but it never seemed to come together as a whole
