I keep a log of what I watch throughout the year and I go through all of my favorite films that I saw for the first time. Any and all time periods are up for consideration for this list. I didn't get to see as many films as I wanted to last January but I did see a number of amazing films. I first saw this concept on this blog www.rupertpupkinspeaks.com/ and my love of lists, made me want to do this. I think this is the 8th year or so that I have done this. 1. Three Colours: White [1993] 2. Six String Samurai [1998] 3. Smiles of a Summer Night [1955] 4. Hana-bi [1997] 5. A Lonely Place [1950] 6. Kill List [2011] 7. Fade to Black [1980] 8. Beau Travail [1999] 9. Invasion of the Body Snatchers [1956] 10. The Big Country [1958] 11. Three Colours: Blue [1993] 12. Three Colours: Red [1994] 13. Switchblade Sisters [1975] 14. Master of the Flying Guillotine [1977] 15. Patrick Still Lives [1980] 16. Liquid Assets [1982] 17. Deadbeat at Dawn [1988] 18. Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! [1965] 19. A Bay of Blood [1971] 20. Demolition Man [1993] 21. Deranged [1974] 22. Bubba Hotep [2003] 23. Skin Flicks [1978] 24. Blood Games [1990] 25. From a Whisper to a Scream [1987] 26. Prisoner of Paradise [1980] 27. Awesome!
Intersting to see 3 Colors White land at the top. I've always preferred the other two. I used to think BLue was the obvious masterpiece, but my esteem for Red has really grown over the years.

I used to think BLue was the obvious masterpiece, but my esteem for Red has really grown over the years. I'm kinda surprised that it landed in that order too. It seems to be the opposite of every other order people have the trilogy in. That said, they're all incredible films and I probably could go back and forth with them. I really liked the black comedy of White and just how everything seems to escalate through it. Blue is also incredible. Also, everyone's lists have some heavy duty picks. I'd love to go back and experience so many of those films for the first time again. Awesome stuff!

If you've yet to see The Double Life of Veronique, go out of your way to check that out. Irene Jacob was something else Amen! Some awesome movies!
