Tibor Szakacs vs Terry Rudge (JP 4/5/74, aired WoS 4/18/74)
Tibor Szakacs is one of the slickest technical wrestlers I've seen on WoS. It's a shame his 60s work isn't available as yet as in these matches he's well into his mid-40s. On the handful of bouts on YT, he generaly works with bigger guys in power vs technique matches. This is probably my favourite. He's a rangy Hungarian guy with the eyes of a man who has seen some stuff (which he undoubtaby has). Terry Rudge you know from his clinic with Marty Jones. The match is simple; Rudge matches up well against Szakacs hold for hold for the first two rounds. Rudge the stronger, Szakacs the more technical. Things get more aggy in the third. They do a great job of working in some cool reversals and counters - including Szakacs's mighty BACKHAND CHOP - in a believable way whilst maintaining a sense of struggle throughout.

No, it was a good match but it took a bit to get going and didn't get as good as you'd expect Rudge/Szakacs to be until right before it ended. I mean it was a better match than a lot of other matches but it wouldn't crack my Top 20 WoS matches.

Solid. I don't really see it as a candidate for something like this but it's a pretty good match.
