Our tag team heroes who were brilliant against Bolshoi and Arisa face off in a stiff, dramatic match. The dislike is palpable early on and then we have some spots that felt quite risky. Good selling over the course of the match. Finishing stretch features counters and near falls galore; bombast done right. I was beside myself and maybe was on a high looking for something to love but this struck me as a classic and something I would probably rate. The clip online is 37 minutes long, but the match itself is 20 minutes; there is a hype video at the start and a haircut in the postmatch that was quite emotional.

I wouldn't really call it a hidden gem since this match was talked about a lot in 2010 and is generally recognized as Sakuras career match. It was better than some hyped joshi matches but some of the typical problems also apply. There was no pay off to the backwork, crowd brawling was weak, some of Sakuras spots came across as weak, and parts of the match felt aimless especially the ending where they did 20 Destiny Hammers and a bunch of moves before ending it on a random German suplex. Yoneyama is underrated but she's been in better matches. I would call it a pretty good match but it wouldn't make my Top 20 of 2010. Even if you want joshi there were better matches like Bolshoi vs. Yoneyama or Satomura vs. Kana that I wouldn't consider for this project either.

I have nominated like a 100 matches in this project. I don't get why everytime someone explains why something wouldn't make the cut for them there has to be some snarky clapback. I thought this forum was for discussing the pros and cons of each individual nominee.

Lol you're barely active here unless its to tell us which matches you don't think are worth nominating, maybe C&P something from your blog and then you didn't even participate by voting in the project this year. If you were interested in discussing pros & cons of matches and participating here you'd do it.
There are over 1000 matches nominated here. Time & again you only seem interested in the ones you don't think are worthy and whenever theres a follow up to your posts you don't actually respond so lets not pretend like you're actually coming here for a discussion.

I downloaded this the other day. Haven't had much time to watch wrestling lately, but I am really looking forward to checking this out. I really like Sakura, but am mostly familiar with her later career where you can see she has a ton of talent, but isn't really in a position to be producing bangers.

Time & again you only seem interested in the ones you don't think are worthy and whenever theres a follow up to your posts you don't actually respond so lets not pretend like you're actually coming here for a discussion. Time and time I watch something nominated in this forum and write my thoughts down. If we are not allowed to have negative views on nominated matches then what's the point of a nomination process in the first place? How many positive votes on matches does one have to leave before the negative votes become valid again? Checking back, I there were actually a few positive comments among my last couple posts. Lurkers may see the positive reviews contrasted with a negative review and be inspired to actually watch a match to form their own opinion. It's better than ending up with a list of 9000 matches which are all totally great or something and don't say otherwise or you're a troll. People who disagree with my views are free to skip my posts, by the way.
I also don't understand your comment regarding my blog. Yes, I C&P reviews from there sometimes because why not? Should I write two different reviews? By the way, the above review was fresh and not from my blog. My blog is for stuff I like so of course I'm going to bring some of those matches over here.
Re: submitting a Top 100. I submitted a Top 100 once, I was too busy to make another the next year. I have stuff going on in my life and posting on forums is not my job. I do this for my own amusement and to put my thoughts somewhere. I'm past the point in my life where winning internet arguments is important to me so forgive me when I don't have the nerve to respond to replies like "talk about something you like".

Gentlemen, lets take this to DMs if we need to discuss it further. Perhaps there are two different orientations to the board at work here. Perhaps there is something else at play. Honestly, not my concern, but the conversation isn't about the match anymore. If there is a worthwhile, productive conversation in here somewhere maybe we need a new thread for it. If not, maybe take it to the dms or just break it up all together.

Its a great match. Emotional, crazy hard hitting. Loved the back work and there are some absolutely bonkers spots and counters. Not my preferred style but clearly awesome and well worth consideration.

9/10 from me and I was blown away. I love big emotional matches like this and it RULED! 9/10 means it's got a good shot at my list, but not guaranteed.

Enjoyed this. I think its highs were really high, but it lacked something in a few short stretches that keeps it out of serious consideration for me. The stare down at the start was awkwardly intense and i loved it. They followed that with some really nice intensity. When the energy/action wandered a bit for my liking it always led to something cool, but still. I really liked the home stretch though. They hit their stride when they needed it most. Overall, I'd still call this great. It is snug, high energy wrestling that builds drama well.
