Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant vs Bobby Heenan & Nick Bockwinkel & Ken Patera & Bobby Duncum (AWA - 11/7/82)
I dunno how I haven't watched this like 100 times in my life but this is about as great as pro-wrestling could possibly be.

Second. I’d vote for this in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't have it anywhere near my top 100, but my life is richer for having seen this. Big goofy fun.

This is a match that needs to be nominated. I had this on a tape I got when I was a kid. It had this and the April 83 Hogan/Bockwinkel match. Hogan in the AWA was something special.

This is a match that needs to be nominated. I had this on a tape I got when I was a kid. It had this and the April 83 Hogan/Bockwinkel match. Hogan in the AWA was something special. Hogan is legit the most underrated wrestler of the 80s. He has great matches & performances every year from 1980-1989. As a heel, obviously as a face, in long technical matches, in over the top spectacles, in crazy bloodthirsty brawls, in tag matches, in comedy matches. The amount of great performances Hogan had in the 80s is staggering. The anti-Hogan bias among smart fans is hard to overcome but if people would just actually watch the available footage I think they'd be surprised at how versatile & how consistent he is over the course of the entire decade.
