This was fucking brilliant, built around Hokuto's "leg injury". Hokuto tried to hit when counters when she could, but Kong was a dominant force and worked the leg in her way. Some amazing spots like Hokuto countering a discus backfist with a spinning leg kick. Hokuto's selling was out of this world. Just beautiful pro wrestling.
9/10

What was the deal with Hokuto coming back early from her leg injury here? She changes the match to non-title at the start because she hasn't recovered and doesn't want to disrespect the title. Then afterwards she's calling her performance embarrassing.
This seems as good a place as any to ask - the impression I have of Hokuto during this run is that she's often carrying some kind of injury. I read this as she was a badass who had no choice but to tough it out as she was nearing 25. However, now I'm unsure. Had the retire at 25 rule been scrapped already?

The having to retire rule is essentially down due to JWP/LLPW being competition and around, so yeah. As for Hokuto, she was injured a lot. Broke her neck and continued a match before. Had a bone sticking out of her leg and wanted to continue but management wouldn't let her. She's probably the toughest person in wrestling history. I am dubious of her actually being too hurt to compete here and think it was more of an angle. She was hurt, sure, but she wrestled up to this date and after this date. Also the match rules, so I think angle to me.

Thanks for the context, it clears things up.
Given what they were going for the match was very compelling, although I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the other big matches from Hokuto. The stuff post-match here was absolute gold though.
