Lawler vs Kaufman is a good pick. Honestly Lawler vs Idol too.

Misawa v Kawada speaks for itself.
In ring it's not my thing but Hogan v Savage was probably the best booked long term WWF angle.

From an emotion and storytelling perspective, I might pick this as my favourite.

Current top 10 (in no order after the top 3)
Kobashi/Hansen Danielson/Ki Ishikawa/Ikaeda Kandori/Hokuto Sting/Vader Misawa/Kobashi Hart/Austin Danielson/Morishima ELDS/Casas Lawler/Dundee
There is a very good chance that those top 3 are my actual top 3. I can't imagine anything topping Hansen/Kobashi for me. Ki/Dragon has always been sort of my personal favorite, so anything knocking it out of the #2 spot also seems unlikely.

Two I love: Jim Breaks vs Young David is such an under appreciated feud and one of my absolute favourites. It's very compact as well compared to some of the sprawling epic rivalries mentioned so far. You have the arsehole veteran champion vs plucky young babyface, three great matches and you're done. It's also one of the best example of a veteran knowing how to play to the limited strengths of his opponent; Breaks makes a very green Davey Boy Smith look like a teenage wrestling prodigy. The Funks vs Abby & Sheik seems similarly under appreciated. Terry - and Dory to an extent - finding the fortitude to overcome the heels. Again very compact in 4 matches. When watched in order there's this great narrative arc of all the DQ finishes actually tell a great story of each pair scoring moral victories over the other, the tide slowly turning for the Funks before they finally achieve the decisive win.

If I'm looking at a tentative working top 5 right now, I'd probably go:
Ikeda/Ishikawa Lawler/Dundee Rey/Eddie Tenryu/Hashimoto Santo/Casas
I'm not ready to commit to any particular order, however.

I'm pretty sure I've voted for all 4 of these matches in either all or at least two of our GME polls. Last time I had 3 in the top 40 and two in the top 15. Terry vs Abdullah is the greatest AJPW feud ever.

I imagine the pub bully tortures teen sensation dynamic to be 100% up your street.

I plan on checking out Dump vs Chigusa.
I know I'm late, but I was very into Christian Cage & Luchasaurus vs Jungle Boy. I'm glad Jungle Boy beat Christian in a very very long-overdue victory at Revolution 2023.
