This is a shockingly brutal I Quit match, to the point where even Lawler and JR are taking it really seriously. Heavy emphasis on submission work, which is really cool and and an effective smaller underdog vs. monster heel dynamic. I'd honestly rate it ahead of the Ishikawa vs. Greco match from the same day.

Is this the one where Phoenix makes Melina kick herself in the back of the head with her own foot? If so I haven't watched it since it actually happened, but I also thought it was shockingly good. Not better than Ishikawa/Greco good, but shocking all the same.

I watched it as well, this definitely blew past my expectations. Melina was a really great underdog and they kept things right and purposeful.

The claim of this being better than Ishikawa/Greco was funny enough to get me to watch it. I still think it's funny to say that, but this might be a legitimately great match. Far more ambitious effort than I remember it being with plenty of struggle and some impressive reversals. I also like how expressive Melina was.
